@@ayeyuh6920 they are FAR from greedy. They don’t so many update since release. We’re talking about 6 people. Not a company of people. Every update has come with improvements. Just because they haven’t added certain things, doesn’t mean they got greedy. Skater XL got greedy. Not session.

@@MasonStorme_ Sure. That's why they're wasting all of their time and resources on DLC that they can charge you for, instead of focusing on key features that should have been in the game before 1.0. Saying they are "FAR" from greedy is insane given the context. The improvements they've pushed out since then have mostly been minor.

@@ayeyuh6920 it’s a pretty big difference between when it launched to now. A ton of little improvements have made a big difference and they are working on it a lot. For most people, the game was only $25 during the beta. The DLC makes them money that they use for updates. They released the game the way it was cause they needed the resources to go further. That’s how small companies get things done. In the end. The game will be great

@@MasonStorme_ That sounds like straight cope. The DLC gets used to make more DLC that they can sell you, while making the smallest of improvements to keep you happy.

They need to animate the character to absorb more impact when he lands tricks, if they fixed that they'd have the most realistic skate game imo

100% agreed. When you land arms move to catch your balance. Not just land then stiff. Yeah if they nailed that that would turn the realism in the replays to near perfect.

I still find the physics too stiff, you know what i mean?

They are suppose to fix this with the full launch. It’s still gonna take some time. Mostly I think they need to fix the landings. You’re too stiff once you land. The body leans, and arms move to keep balance after landing. If they nail that it would be hard to complain about much.

@@EBGRECSskater xL is honestly a lot better skate is just more nostalgic. Tricks are way too easy and most people skate super unrealistically and spam flips but skater xL makes even the most basic things a challenge and the skate style is way more realistic.

Session is good. Just be ready to adjust your roll + push speed for every location you skate

@@MasonStorme_man every time people complain about this game I have no idea what they're talking about, and only 40% of players have even done the first mission so usually when I see things like "the bounce glitch" get mentioned I assume the person has never actually played session, just watched a lot of youtube.

Definitely more realistic physics but graphically similar to skate 3.

The controls prevent me from really enjoying this game as much as I could. Great game either way! 👍🏻👍🏻

This is why I play Skater XL. In session everything is so stiff. You do a rooftop drop and there’s no impact, you do a trick and your character immediately resets with no reaction to impact, crouching looks super awkward, and all the animations are just the opposite of smooth.

This clips is 10 months old. This is from the beta. Look at recent clips I’ve shared, much more detail, character impact is definitely there. Corresponding movement is there. Session has come a long way since the beta and continues to be updated and the devs constantly let us know what’s going on and how the game will continue to improve over time.

If I was to be critical, I would say that after the Nollie flip, the pushing looked a little off. Probably just mechanics though, but this game looks super crisp.

I can hear the sounds in my head even while watching it muted

And still don't got on going damage to boards without mods. I wanna see the scrapes and scratches after grinds and stuff like that. And potential board snaps.

The boards do get damaged the more you skate. The griptape also wears down and gets messed up. Play the game and you would know that tho.

They need to animate a cave man and an animation to pick up your board.

For an even more realistic feel remember to stop the camera at the top of the stairs as if the filmer can’t skate down the stairs

That’s because the latest version was still adding new game physics, I don’t know if they will add the final animations in 1.0 but the latest teasers seems to be smoother

Just started sxl and I’m enjoying it is a spiked learning curve but once I nail it it’s gonna be gold. But not what I was really gonna say session and sxl literally look the same every video I see I mix them up both looks great

Pretty big differences once you start playing both.

i find the physics nice but there needs to be collision sound when the board hits the ground again

I just started playing session a week ago and I have 1700hrs in XL. Session better people just don't give it a chance because it's harder.. controls make way more sense. Not to mention game don't need mods it has everything built into actual game

Are they fixing transition tricks? Stalls and grabs ?

I jus started playin session last month and I tried to play as if it was skate 3 controls. Didn’t work out whatsoever 😂😂 Love session though it feels so smooth and fluent.

This video is 2 years old and I’ve been playing since the beta on pc and I’ve seen a lot of improvements. I agree that I wanna see a lot more because it has so much potential. But it’s gotten a lot better.

I like the game but I've played so much Skate 3 I just cant quite get comfy with the control scheme

If your run is in a straight line yes but not if you need to go left or right lol. I hate that they removed the skate like controls

I can easily do a run where I have to turn a bunch. They have a full menu so you can fine tune everything.

Skate 3 is amazing. But if you’re saying more natural controls then no. Session controls mimic real life skateboarding and the way the feet move to do the tricks. So session is the most natural in comparison to real skateboarding. Skate 3 is probably the most simplistic controls. And definitely the easiest.

@@MasonStorme_ Yea, I see how I messed up that translation lmao. I mean more natural in comparison to what’s you’d expect in a skate game vs. a real life movement of the sticks/feet. I personally like the more game friendly play. It’s less intensive and complex, which yields more fun play and less thinking. In NBA2k for example, I wouldn’t want to flick the L + R direction buttons to mimic a bending of the knee and then jumping for jump shot. I’d rather just hit Square. So in that context, I like Skate 3 better. But I also like or better than Tony Hawk even tho Tony Hawk is button/trick friendly. Like it’s in the sweet spot of best of both worlds.

@@iSammie2 the tricks are unique to session. The best thing to compare to is skater xl controls. But these are harder to learn and master. Session is a skate simulator so tricks are done as they would be in real life. The story line is simple. Really just a ton of challenges to do. This game was started just be 4 guys that wanted a realistic skateboarding game and over the years they got sponsors and were able to make it better. This is still very much a indie game. But it’s very difficult to learn and get good at the game. So give it a week or two of playing before you expect to do well.

Looks EXACTLY like skate to me i’m not noticing much difference besides it’s just A TINY bit more cleaned up. This might be new to anyone who has never played the skate series, but for anyone who played skate, is this BRAND new?

Session is by far different. The only thing the same is the fact that you skateboard in the game. Looks different. Graphics are different. Controls, trick selection, style, appearance, stats, all very different. And it’s much much more difficult of a game to play compared to skate.

@@MasonStorme_ The graphics might be updated by default because the generation of gaming. This game uses analog to do tricks which to my knowledge started in skate. Play styles looks exactly the same even the environment. I can’t see too much different besides the fact it’s more polished, but considering just how old skate games are… it’s more different than skate 1 than skate 2 and skate 3. It’s not that far off i’m just saying you could barely even name anything. You named appearance twice. One thing i can say is there are more moves. It would be a shame if there wasn’t tho seems default to me.

@@NoMoneyAfterTipping I didn’t list appearance twice. And the game is very different than skate. Take it from someone that has been playing skate since 2007. And playing session for 2+ years as well. I mean obviously the games have the same concept. Which is to skate around, do tricks, do missions and challenges, and skate more. But session definitely looks much different than skate. And session offers WAY more than skate in many ways. Story wise, skate wins every time. But realism wise, session will always win. Session offers a full stat menu in game, waaaaay more tricks, board / grip wear and tear, different control options, a much better replay editor, flick and scoop control, and a lot more.

Funny how the Experimental Tricks are still in "early development", despite the game now being like a couple of years old now..

The full release of the game is less than a year old and they are constantly releasing new updates with great improvements. But we gotta remember that this is a extremely small team of people and it takes time to create something new then work out the kinks.

It does not have other skaters. You can turn on NPC’s but it’s just people walking around.
