This was my very 1st favorite song. I was a toddler and ran around for a week asking my Mom for “Two Both”. She had no clue what I was talking about until this song came on and I started jumping up and down yelling TWO BOTH! TWO BOTH! I’m 52 and this song still makes me smile 😀

Dear Wattamack4: I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for uploading this. I'm a child of the early/mid '70s. I was the first grandson and first nephew, so I was a little spoiled. Either my grandmother or aunts bought me a Sesame Street record player with Sesame Street songs. This song, out of all of the volumes I had, stood out and I've sung the first two verses for three decades. I cried when I saw this, happy tears. People, including my sister, though I made this up. Thanks!

Santa brought the LP for me over 40 years ago--it is still part of my record collection. Don't remember seeing the "live" version--but the album with Mr. Hooper saying(singing) on the last verse, "Two hands have I they can wave goodbye," and susan's soulful cooing of the line "I've got two ears to help me hear," are for good or bad etched in my memory. . . .

+kj Lee I too still have this as part of my LP collection; there were two SS records that had this song-one of the very first, from season 2, and another one, made in 1974 or so, entitled Letters and Numbers, which I had also gotten 40 years ago, for my sixth birthday(I still have both LPs, to this day!)I turned 46 last April, so it really has been 40 years, since I got the Letters and Numbers record. We Old School SS viewers were lucky, growing up with LPs.

Awesome man!! I had forgotten about this comment. Yep, it is very true that those of us who were children in the 70s, have something that today's youths, with all of their tech and social networking, just do not have--and it has to do with time. Things were a lot slower back then, we took the time to read a book, use our imaginations, play a game outside with our friends, listen to a "long-playing" record, and to really get to know someone. That is what TRUE social networking is all about.

My brother and I liked to exaggerate the pause at the end of the last stanza: "We've got two eyes (long pause) and they're both the same size." We would sing the song, but stretch the long pause out to an hour ... or two weeks ... or a couple of years ...

I remember another version of this song from the early nineties. It featured Telly looking for forty body parts. He, Bob, Maria, and Uncle Wally sang "I've Got Two", and at the end of the song, they'd found their first twelve. As usual, Bob sang the opening verse about eyes.

There's a version where Bob keeps singing about his two eyes, they're both the same size, and Susan finally hits him with the punch line: " But, Bob, they aren't-- your eyes aren't both the same size!" and if you look close, you can see that one is a little bigger. Very common thing about symetric body parts.

It's called acting. The ending is uncomfortable because it's about her feet and women do not like to talk about their feet, unless their feet are extremely petite. Sesame Street taught about life, in addition to numbers and body parts it was about life's nuances -- male, female, black, white, etc.
