I get that the earth being destroyed is supposed to be serious, but watching Sam talk and scream is always gonna be hilarious to me.

I personally don't find this ending sad, because when "Hero" plays in the background, I am assured that the fight is not over yet.

Serious Sam 3 is a prequel to Serious Sam. Mental in the future succeeds in invading and destroying humanity, Serious Sam goes back in time with the objective of Killing Mental before he can Invade Earth or any of our colony worlds.

Now we know there are two time traveling Sam`s. One that failed to reach Tunguska portal when big battle happend but Earth wasn`t "mooned" so he silently used Time-Lock(or other device) to help himself in the past to reach said battle in time. And the Player Sam we got to play in every game who succesfully traveled to the 3000 B.C and than obtained Sirus spaceship. So in next game we either gonna play as Very Serious Sam who didn`t saved his friends at final battle in Tunguska or we gonna play as Space Capitan Sam searching the universe to kill Mental before he wakes up. The only sad part is either of them didn`t got the chance to go on a date with Hellfire.

@@conner4385 I thought they were working for a more Serious remake of it? Or maybe they address it in Serious Sam 4, I mean for all we know SS4 takes place right after SS3.

That ending is FUCKING SAD. Earth is Mooned! Our home destroyed. What's more is that everyone in the comments here don't really react to how humanity has lead to the destruction of their own saviour & home via an alien overlord. This is some philosophical suggestions right here.

First should be: Serious sam 3 bicouse at end he jump into the machine which teleport him to; Serious sam 1 At start he we can see the cutscene when he teleport into egipt. At end he was flying with ufo than he break in Serious sam 2 ;) Ss3 Ss1 Ss2

The Earth is meant to be destroyed anyway on SS plots, that's the point and meaning that Sam needs to time travel back. However the paradox is, how could you do time travel in a destroyed planet? The planet is destroyed, even if you travel back you can't break natural law, it's just destroyed. So i guess the true ending for Sam is just that he's either stuck in void or he's dead.

Please, please Croteam, let Serious Sam 4 continue after Second Encounter! I really want to know what happens after that (and no, Serious Sam 2 is apparently not canon, and it's still inconclusive anyway).

I heard a friend of a friend once saying "BFE" in casual conversation, and I asked her what it meant, not mentioning Serious Sam 3 until after she explained it. Turns out "BFE" is some sort of slang or phrasing in Egypt that refers to being out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by large, open spaces of nothing. It's just uncannily fitting for this game!

I think I've pieced it together, Mental is actually Majora, and Sam goes back in time to seal him in the mask.

I hope that we will finally see Mental in Serious Sam 4. Because i though that we will see him in SS3 ... I just imagine him as dark Black Guy with Red Eyes, but i think that Croteam can fix this soon.

Mental is a big, evil version of the croteam bigheads! He is in the files of the first encounter alpha!

Happens at the end of Every Serious Sam game and yes it is always fucking awesome and sometimes pretty funny.

So basically he loses over and over again. Until like avengers when he reaches that one mutated timeline.

BFE = Before First Encounter

Serious Sam The First Encounter is the continuance of Serious Sam 3, then Serious Sam The Second Encounter and then Serious Sam 2 and now there needs to be a Serious Sam 4 or something so Serious Sam can kill Mental !! Serious Sam, Serious Engine and Croteam RULES !!!!

And... The fourth game is going to be a prequel of this game. So no big fight against Mental😨.

Sam: hey dad home Judy: No he out destroying some pissant planet in the metal nowhere can i take a message Sam: Yeah tell him sam's coming to play and by play i mean kill him Judy: Are you serious !? Sam: Why yes, as matter of fact i am Judy: Well you better hurry He;s due to moon your planet any second now Sam: moon my huh?

this is a prequal. what happens next is serious sam the first encounter.

You have to admit, Serious Sam 3 is fucking beautiful for a 2011 game.

Yes yes there is DEAD SPACE 3 AWAKENING which is pretty much this accept with multiple Alive eating brothern moons And the original deleted ending of mass effect 3 everyone vaporized along with the galaxies so yes there are other video games with complete doomsdays

Serious Sam. BFE stands for Before First Encounter, which is the first game EVER released for the series

Mental WASN NOT killed in serious sam 2 if you don't believe me read the wiki on serious sam 2 here's a link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serious_Sam_II

I think that could be due to the videos you watch. For instance, in my suggested videos there's one of a slinky going down an escalator.

Everybody, Serious Sam 4 is going to take place after Serious Sam 2, since Mental was killed at SS2. SS3:BFE happens before Serious Sam The First Encounter, and makes it practically the first one in the series.

Mental never died in the end. If you watch the ending again, Sam shot a speaker on a false throne where Mental (supposedly) would've been. Instead, you know that spaceship that flies out through the open roof? That was Mental's escape vehicle he/she/it had warmed up and took launch when Sam was occupied in the darkness before he realized he wasn't there.

MammaSomari It seems to me that Serious Sam 2 is cannon... just not to the main cannon of First Encounter, Second Encounter, and BFE. It seems to be cannon to "Serious Sam for X-Box" and Serious Sam: Next Encounter (forming their own parallel universe), as they share the same cartoony style. Heck, the opening cutscene of Serious Sam 2 shows off actual gameplay footage of Serious Sam for X-Box, complete with the same cartoon heads up display!
