Serial Experiments Lain Effects in Davinci Resolve | SKORSEN | SK Learns

This video will go over how I attempted to make the Serial Experiments Lain Title-card in Davinci Resolve 17.
A long breakdown of both the Follower modifier, and a way on how to make fake 3D text using a combination of nodes.
This will cover these topics in a rough explanative style, and less of a tutorial. so take these as more guidelines rather than direct teachings, and adapted them into something cool for yourself.
Also, no copyright infringement intended, this is just for fun, the music used is from the Serial Experiments Lain Soundtrack and can be found here on KZread if you want to listen to it.
Overall if you've watched the video, I hope that what I said helped you in your own projects, and I hope you continue to create cool things in the programs that you use.
And just as a current message, I'll probably infrequently comment.
And yes I know that Loneliness 1A is missing the 1... sorry.

I've been trying to find something like this video, but it IS very long. It is understandable though since Lain's effect is very distinct. I looked at the final product and it does nail that look though! Now, about watching the actual show, I have it on my hard drive, but I have to actually open it and watch it.

It might be better to try using after effects, because thats the software used to make these scenes, atleast most of them

You're right that it's the most used when it comes to making graphics like these, but for me at a personal level, a program that's purely based off subscriptions, and doesn't work well with other operating system that I intend to use in the future, it's led me not to particularly see a reason in using it. Though it's been about a year since I've made this video, my main intention behind it was to see what the Fusion could do, and what I could learn from tackling a project that was out of my knowledge, and that I was a little annoyed at the disparity between videos about Resolve, versus After effects having more detailed explanations and more complex projects being showcased, mostly due to it being the industry standard. Thanks for the comment! Always appreciate that chance to get feedback!

22:50 At this time I mention about the background node tree. Both first and second attempt. I haven't re-watched this video since I've made it. and I think I could have made this better, but you live and learn. Though I will mention I've haven't had time to really get back to the Fusion page in a while. so I may not be the best at remembering the stuff I put in this video. But I'll help if I can. Best of luck on learning Fusion!
