She’s been through so much and people still call her a drama queen. Her reactions are justified. She has been through it all on court and has had 3 altercations in her life, but haters tend to regard those 3 meltdowns instead of her 23 grand slams, on top of the blatant racism she’s faced. Serena Williams stands on top as the greatest athlete of all time.

@@amandacerny8145 As you can see, once we apply the ATP GOAT debate metrics to WTA, you can see that Serena is somewhere between #3 and #5 all time, depending on how much you value certain accomplishments. Fantastic player, but not the GOAT. She had the opportunity to be the GOAT by playing in the weakest era of all other GOAT candidates (going by ELO ratings), but the fact that she only won 73 titles and was not very committed to the tour outside the Slams for the majority of her career was very costly. She was never able to be as dominant or as consistent week in week out like Steffi and Martina and saw winning Slams as a shortcut to greatness. But there are no shortcuts if you want to be the GOAT. She simply wasn’t good enough. And that’s completely fine. Being in the top 5 all time is a historic achievement, but we mustn’t undervalue the achievements of other women who accomplished more than Serena just because of recency bias and because Serena is American.

Serena herself realized they were rooting for her because she was British if you look at the press conference, the thought of racism did not even cross her mind. Brits are very patriotic people and we’re rooting for Heather because she is British. Jack Draper got the same treatment against Djokovic in Wimbledon last year. I have complied some stats as to how their individual stats compare to each other: Number of Grand Slams: 1. Court - 24 2. Williams - 23 3. Graf - 22 4. Wills - 19 5. Evert/ Navratilova - 18 Total Weeks at #1: 1. Graf - 377 2. Navratilova - 332 3. Court - 325 4. Williams - 319 5. Evert - 290 Honorable mention: Wills was #1 for an estimated 8 years, though there were no computer rankings at the time. Year-End #1: 1. Graf - 8 2. Wills - 8 (unofficial) 3. Court/ Evert - 7 4. Navratilova - 6 5. Williams - 5 Overall titles/ tournaments won: 1. Court - 192 2. Navratilova - 167 3. Evert - 157 4. Graf - 107 5. Williams - 73 Shout out to King (133 titles), Goolagong (86), Lenglen (83). We also don’t know the official title count of Maureen Connolly and Hellen Wills. Reports say it’s in the triple digits so also more than Serena. Career win %: 1. Wills 398-35 (91.9%) *unofficial 2. Court 1,177-106 (91.7%) 3. Evert - 1309-146 (89.7%) 4. Graf - 900-115 (88.7%) 5. Navratilova - 1,442-219 (86.8%) 6. Williams - 855-152 (84.9%) And special shout out to Suzanne Lenglen who has an incredible 332-7 (97.9%) record, which is the best record out of anyone, ever in tennis. Other/ miscellaneous stats: Consistency factor: QF or better results from total Slam appearances: 1. Evert - 54/56 (96.4%) - Even more impressively, Evert reached the SF in 52 of the 56 Slams she played in her career. That record will never be topped. 2. Wills - 22/24 (91.7%) 3. Court - 43/47 (91.5%) 4. Graf - 46/54 (85.2%) 5. Navratilova- 53/67 (79.1%) 6. Williams - 54/79 (68.3%) When compiling this list, I noticed that nearly a THIRD of Serena’s Slam results have been exits before the QF, which is absolutely SHOCKING. Dominance factor/ Slams won from total Slams played: 1. Wills - 19/24 (79.2%) *amateur Slams 2. Court - 24/47 (51%) 3. Graf - 22/54 (40.7%) 4. Evert - 18/56 (32.1%) 5. Williams - 23/79 (29.1%) 6. Navratilova- 18/67 (26.8%) - Graf is the only player, male or female, to be ranked #1 for 377 weeks. - Graf is the only player, male or female, to be (officially) year-end #1 for 8 seasons (other unofficial include Tilden and Wills) - Graf is the only player, male or female, to win each Slam at least 4 times - Graf is the only player, male or female, to win 6 Slams on each surface - Graf is the only player, male or female, to win the Golden Calendar Slam (1998)- all 4 Slams and the Olympic gold So as you can see, Serena does have a legendary career, but to be considered the GOAT, you need to tower above everyone else in history in terms of accomplishments, which Serena does not. She is a top 5 all time great, but not the GOAT.

5:35 You gotta be the greatest to withstand that BS from the crowd. Anybody else would have folded under that extreme pressure. Thank God for KZread, because you only have to go back and watch Serena over the years and see just how brutal the crowd was towards her. The kind of thing if I don't you how bad it was you wouldn't believe it; you had to be there. Well, KZread puts you there, and yes, it was that bad. Men and women included, Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, no one has ever had an entire stadium root against them (individual sports, not team) and triumph against ALL odds. Just look at Naomi Osaka for example. The physical ability is there but mentally, she is lost.

America was so nasty to Venus and Serena. I am not sure why this video is titled Serena Williams Fans, but they show her grace under pressure that most could not handle. I admire Naomi Osaka but there’s no way she could handle what Serena has gone through .

Well this is just my personal opinion there was a lot of racism throughout her career she and her sister's. But she won over a lot of naysayers because she beat the shit out of all the players practically I mean the Queen has 23 grand slams you may not like her but it doesn't matter because she will go down in history as the greatest of all time until a man can match her grandslam total or surpass it she's the greatest tennis player of all time male or female I don't want to hear about the males are stronger dotted out of. no that's not how it works boo boo 23 grand slams deal with it

I’ve always generally liked Mary Joe. What exactly did she say? I’m not being funny or anything just genuinely curious because I don’t think I’ve ever really seen her do or say anything crazy.

I'm not a fan of Serena nor do I believe she's the GOAT for women. But definitely one of the top no question. However, she deserves respect like any other player. Certain crowds, past and present, are racist cowards PERIOD... but there are many who are respectful fans. There's a difference between passionate and disrespectful. You don't have to applaud for Serena (or any player) but I think booing is very 6 year old like. I just hope these people don't have kids of their own - could you imagine?!!??!

I was surprised that the US open stadium called her the greatest of time after her matches so confidently this year. I do agree she's the GOAT though to be honest, but I also think it's not as clear cut as people make it out to be
