when i was young everyone of my metalhead friend and myself wanted to just stand tall arms crossed because of this video... what a great time!

When I was about 18 yrs old (1992), after years of being in to really underground hardcore thrash, it dawned on me one day that metal/thrash had been done. There was no new ground. All had been done. The fucking party was over. I got in to Enya and Seal (I still adore them both by the way, I make no apolagies). Then I heard this album! It made me realise that no matter how much a style of music has been battered to death, somebody, somewhere, can make it sound new and fresh. I got in to Metal once again!

Sepultura has been steady playing in my head since the early 90’s.

It's 2014 and still, nothing can touch the heaviness of that breakdown at 3:14. I just listened to this again after all this time and my neck got sore because of that breakdown. I love it!

Does anyone ever get so overcome with the sincere intensity of Sepulturas music that it brings tears to your eyes. I listen to a lot of metal for a long long time and sepultura brings out this anger frustrated part of me that is powerless to the grand whole of existence, and society’s cycles of hate and killing of each other that goes back to the beginning of civilization.It’s so genuine and raw it resonates with me to my primal core! I just feel like fuck it, I give up, pass me a gun I’m going to self sacrifice for man’s endless war.

Absolutely nothing on this planet ever thrashed or ever will thrash as fkn hard as Cavalera-era Sepultura.

I’ve been following thrash bands for the last 12 years. Why am I JUST NOW getting into these guys?! Their musicianship is unbelievable!

Have you heard thrash for 12 years and only heard about Sepultura recently? OMG. Sepultura is one of the biggest bands in the scene, they are not even underground. I wish I had the chance to hear Sepultura for the first time again, to feel the mind blowing sensation again.

I was thinking the same 🤯😦 I'm definitely adding them to my playlist but that's not to say I've never heard of sepultura because I have just never listen to them often but may may have to because this is some killer thrash 🤘💀👊

"Arise" is a really good album but '' Beneath the Remains'' is a monster. The album came out in early 1989 and I was 16 at the time. I heard it towards the end of the same year and throughout 1990 I just listened to it. An album that changed the whole Metal scene. "Arise" confirmed the status that Sepultura had at that time. "Chaos AD" is different, slower, the band somehow felt tired, even though the songs were still top notch. I didn't listen to the other albums with Max because Max had changed, it was obvious that something was happening in the band. I started listening to Sepultura again when Max left and I listen to them today ...

All my youth here - and I'm 40+ - Thank you so much Max, Igor and guys. The first time I still remember the very first time I heard "My inner self" in 1989. I used to be a Slayer, Megadeth and Death fan then I suddenly became a Sepultura one too. Many, many thanks from Gojira country #Bayonne

Damn........Igor's drumming at the 4:00 part is incredibly fast, his hands become a blur. Sepultura are martyr's of metal, one of the best there ever was and ever will be! Some of the catchiest and recognizable metal riffs, rythms, transitions and beats played so flawlessly clear even back in the days of digital recordings

This is one of the best songs you will ever hear in your life!

I love this whole song, but that bridge that starts about 3:09 is legendary!

A friend of mine called me up and asked me if I wanted to go to a show for free at First Ave in Minneapolis. I had never heard of these guy's before but said sure because it was free. I was blown away! They were so tight and so good. One of the best live shows I have ever seen. That was over 20 years ago and still a fan

I got to meet Igor Cavalera briefly at a gym - couldn't have been a nicer guy. He signed all my CDs and was so grateful that I had bought their music. Yes, I fan-boy'd out. 10/10.
