Septic System Install for the Barndominium
In this video BBB Septic installed our new Septic System. 1,000 gallon septic tank with 3 lateral lines in the drain field. We may not have a working toilet yet in the barndominium, but we now at least have a dump station for the RV so we can at least dump the black water. Each week we get a step closer to moving out to the Ranch.

at 7:53 you can see the pipe going into the distribution box is going uphill...a lot.
Very creative method to dig the hole for the tank. I’ve not seen that before.

Need a bigger machine for digging the hole,or a bigger bucket for that one,I’ve got same machine with a 30” bucket for installing septic
Are you going to connect your future house to that septic tank or have a completely separate one?

Separate Septic tank for the main house. We were originally thinking of a common system, but the distance between the two and where it would need to be located to serve both locations was not really going to work. We also thought if we ever needed to split the lot and sell off or rent one building in the future, then I want separate utilities for each. A third factor was cost and timing. It probably would have cost me the same for one combined system as it would for two smaller separate systems. I also would have needed to have my main house planned, surveyed for grade, and the full system approved by the state health department with time bound permits that wasn't going to fit my timeline for when I will be ready to have the main house built.
What was the total cost of installing it?

$4500 and they got it all done in a day. The drain field was probably around 100-150 ft from the tank.
