September 4, 2022: Can a future that’s bit the dust be made new? by Rev. Matthew Fillier

For the last two weeks, we’ve seen inspiring images from Isaiah and Jesus about the Divine vision of a more compassionate, loving, and just society. It’s not about paving streets with cobblestones, it’s about rebuilding the spirit of humanity. It’s not about building a temple, its about renovation the soul of society. On this third week, we turn to Jeremiah and wonder - but what if the future has already bit the dust? Can it still be made new? It’s all well and good for the potter to work the clay, but what happens when the vessel itself breaks - can anything good come from the broken pieces of the life we once new? Join us, as we explore how even in the brokenness, when everything is written off as just dust for the dust bin, the Spirit breathes new life - the story is ever new - we always have a future worth hoping for!
