Separated at birth 33 years ago, identical twin sisters Amanda Dunford and Katey Bennett recently learned of each other’s existence through a genetic testing service. Amanda tells Megyn that when she and Katey first spoke via FaceTime, “I felt like I was talking to myself the whole time … it was very surreal.”

I think it is so wrong to separate twins or triplets. They should be adopted together.

Or any siblings for that matter. So sad. I saw the documentary, "Three Identical Strangers" where triplets had been separated and had no idea until they were 19. The adoption agency did it on purpose as part of a social experiment they agreed to conducted by a psychologist and were compensated for it - pure evil. The adoptive parents said they would have adopted all of them together if they had known.

Of thousands of orphans, 99% remain in the country and this twin both adopted by Americans living in America. Isn’t it fishy? They could be subjects/ victims of twins studies that used to be very common back then. They’d study them through the parents, through the schools and psychologists all working together secretly. 🕵🏻♀️

Susan Evers and Sharon McKendrick are the twins from The Parent Trap. 🙂 Just noticed your name and remembered the movie.
I have a twin sister and we're always together. I just can't imagine how my life would be like if we were separated. My twin was a bit sick when we were about 7-8 so we had to live separately in different countries for a few months while she was being cured. I was with our dad and she was with our mum. Those months were the hardest and every time I saw a plane flying over I thought she was in there. It was equally as hard for her as well. Every time she passed a toy store over there, she'd buy me something. She wouldn't even buy a toy for herself. We're now 27 and we get along so well. She has a 6 year old daughter whom I love so much and I always make sure I'm in her life as much as possible. We really live the best life! Being twins is a blessing from God

I know they both had good adoptive families and grew up happy, but I can't get over the horror that adoption agencies split up identical twins for adoption ! Siblings should never be split up, and that's twice as bad when it's twins who are split up. I'm sure there was a family out there all those years ago who would have been happy to take both of them.

@@singtweetypie They're from Korea, not China. These agencies barely make anything. The process might be expensive but there are thousands of workers that need to get paid every month, they do not work for free. It costs millions to take care and raise all these babies. It's harder to get twins adopted so they do it to give them the best possible chance of having a family. Try to see the other picture.

Reading and watching all these stories makes me happy for my own childhood. Just found my father had two more sons born while he was married to my mother. Shame on him for doing that. These boys grew up without a father. One was adopted by his grandparents and the other moved across the country at a young age. I’m 62. They are both in their late 50’s. Dad is gone. They are asking about their birth father. Life could be worse for them. They might have been out in an orphanage here. Many did not survive. Even in the 1960’s.

No one should ever be separated from family, children should be kept together .
When the host asked them if they have any similar mannerisms I immediately noticed they were sitting and positioning their hands the exact same way and had been the whole time 😂🥲
My biological sibling and I found each other through 23andMe, as well, though we are not twins and we were adopted from China. My biological sibling is about 3½ years older than me. He took the DNA test before me, so when I looked at my results, he was at the very top of my DNA relatives list, since the list was filtered by percentage of shared DNA. We met in person just recently, and though we are not twins, we look incredibly alike, we act alike, and we share a lot of things in common (e.g., interests, hobbies). It was the most incredible experience ever.

I expected them to run up and meet each other, but they approached each other very awkwardly 😂
Since the first time I watched Sam and Anais in Twinsters it’s so beautiful and strange to hear about so many Korean adopted baby twins separated going to different families, almost as if it was normal. So many twins have found each other but who knows how many more are still out there. And of course just like Sam and Anais I am so happy for these ladies and wish them a lifetime of happiness and blessings!

This is so sad. I mean, to be separated at birth from your siblings in one thing, but dang, from your identical twin? That’s just horrible
They have a lot of similar features even if they lived separate lives and have different styles of makeup and hair. The way they talk are very similar too. They are both so beautiful though!
It's crazy that they have a similar haircut and length, and similar body (weight-wise) they're both so pretty and have a gorgeous smile!
From the beginning I was about to cry here, but both of them are look like so happy, it same they know each other before, no emotional , no tear
If I found out I had a twin I don’t think I’d want a news agency to document and broadcast the whole thing. “What did it feel like when you had this very personal and familial experience with your supposed twin?”
Omgosh, I feel so emotional!! Such a blessing they were ever reunited!!
I can relate!! I was embryo donated and as an adult I found my biological family and before I met them i facebooked them. My older sister looks identical to me! Looking at her photos was a mind trip because I swore they where my photos that I legit had at home. The joke in the family is that she and I are the real twins instead of our older brother and sister who are actully twins, because we have identical traits as well, down to being huge popculture nerds and being super messy. The world works in mysterious ways 🤣

My identical twin sister and I are 33 years old. I can't imagine not growing up together! A lot of people on this thread are commenting on how these two are identical but don't look very much alike. This is actually common with identical twins. My sister and I looked so identical when we were little but as we aged we now look like we could be fraternal or even just siblings a year or two apart. This is because of epigenetics. We share %100 of our genes but we are two separate people and over time we do begin to take on characteristics that are just our own. In our face, body and voice and personality.
Beautiful young ladies.
God bless them 33 years later you found out they have a sibling and a twin sister omg!

Identical twins have the same genome, which makes their DNA identical and features. However, the environment, what they eat, activities they do, etc. can shape and change the way they physically appear... therefore making them look slightly different physically. Fraternal twins, different eggs, different sperm, CAN sometimes look identical (for example the Olsen Twins (Mary-Kate and Ashley from "Full House)) are not "identical" twins, they are Dizygotic twins (aka faternal twins) but look identical.

I don’t know why I am watching this at 3:30 AM but I am glad I did.
It's a beautiful story but it's sad that the twins were separated at birth. This shouldn't have happened. But I'm glad that they've found each other and that they can make up for all the years they've lost together.
What a sweet story! How nice god brought them together again 🤗

It has nothing to do with God-23 & Me brought them together.
I wonder if either one of them thought, 'YES! She speaks English, right on'. I saw a twin reunion show where one spoke English and the other one spoke Vietnamese.
