People gonna hate me for this but I’m gonna say it anyway I prefer Erik’s version more then the original one SORRY guys

This kid is a beast. Just saw him on Thursday night (4/14/22) in Las Vegas with Skid Row and he won over the crowd. Myself included. The place went nuts and everyone was hyped and talking about him before the Scorpions came on. He is the real deal.

As a Journey fan myself, I have to say that this is the best cover I've listened to by far and an outstanding vocal rendition of one of Steve Perry's best melody lines ever sung . Skid Row guys are luckiest ones of having such an extraordinary singer aboard as a frontman. All the admiration for your talent and devoted work is well deserved, Mr Grönwall.

For all those aspiring singers out there - this guy understands vowel sounds. Sure this song requires range and power. But listen again to Erik's vowels when he sings. It's critical to his performance in this, and really any, song. Great job. I've heard tons of covers of this song. This is, in my opinion, is the best one out there. And it really isn't even close.

His vocals are crazy good, but let’s acknowledge the band too. They sang and played the heck out of this song! I felt like I was at a Journey concert again.

The original is the Mecca but there are a few versions, like this one, that meet it. Daughtry and Lizzy Hale also hit the mark. It’s a testament to the original that all these years later it’s still inspiring singers to test their vocals.

I’m 58 and have seen all versions of Journey. Steve, Dean & Erik are in a league of their own. This boy can outright sing Journey or anything else. So glad I discovered his KZread channel

I discovered Erik just a couple of nights ago and I can't stop listening to him. All the songs that I've heard him sing are all of my all time favorites, from Journey, Deep Purple, Whitesnake and all the rest that Erik shares on You Tube, and his excution of all of these songs is coming from another dimension. Absolute perfection, incredible singer. Also a big shout out to all the musicians that perform along side Erik, mesmerizing musicianship and masters of their craft.
