I don’t know how haiku would do but whenever we got another dog growing up the existing dogs taught the new one, especially older dogs with puppies. They become best friends and have the best time together. They can play together in a way we never could and i think they also provide each other safety. I would probably try to get a dog with a similar temperment as haiku but maybe more confident

I love the vlogs and the quality is always top-notch. I can't talk enough about the editing, it has such a comforting vibe. Would love see how you edit and shoot your videosss.

I’ve almost always had more than 1 pet, now I only have my 1 old lady dog. I will say 1 dog is much more relaxing but 2+(provided they get along) is a lot of fun and very rewarding, especially when they’re both younger. The older your pet gets the more difficult it can potentially be to get another pet. All in all, I’d just say you have to be ready for the commitment. That doesn’t mean you have to be glued to your house like you have an infant but just that you’re ready for the little bit of extra work. But it’s actually not as bad as you’d think most of the time, you’re just doubling what you already do, lol Warning, they will teach each other any bad habits they have, so keep that in mind😂

I’ve been watching you for a long time but I didn’t know you’re older than me. The whole time I thought we’re about the same age or even younger! Happy birthday, Hana! ❤️

Happy Belated birthday Hana! 🎂🎊 I raised two dogs years ago (now just one) and although they could be a handful it was nice that they loved each others company. I think if you decide Haku will make a wonderful brother! 🐶 Susan 😘

Happy birthday!! hope you hay a fun day 💕. I wanted to mention that I have two dogs, and while it does make it better for them to have company while there's no one home... keep in mind the second dog might not have the same easy-going character as the first one. For me, my first dog was so easy to take on walks, never gave much trouble, and had a super relaxed personality. I assumed if a adopted another one it would be just the same, but she turned out to be very hyperactive, was quite anxious around other dogs, loved to chew on the furniture (even when she has toys)... so yeah, not as planned. I still love them both so much. But the character part is something to keep in mind☺.

So I watch a lot of dog shows and I saw a situation where there were these two dogs and one of them pretty much started avoiding the other dog like the plague and basically their story was at first they were ALWAYS playing w each other everything was good (according to the owner) and she just left them to do their thing but a dog.. professional? Lol he explained the older one avoiding the younger dog was the result of just being overly tired to the point of being stressed out and plain exhausted and he concluded that the owner has to give them separate break times.. it’s important to build a balanced routine for them. Like play time should be set to a certain extent hehe (you prob already know but yeah just here to support you :)

happy birthday Hana! also, i think it might be a good option to get Haku a sibling! our family adopted a dog but bc we can't ALWAYs give her attention, she got super lonely and started nagging a lot/needing more attention. after that, we got her a sister and my older dog was soo much cheery and more active!! when we couldnt play with them, they would just play tug with each other until we had time again to play with them. getting Haku a sibling is def a great option!! :)

With how life is there's really never going to be the perfect time to do anything. With that said you seem to be hesitant to get another pet right now. Normally hesitance is a good thing since it means you probably should think things through more because you have good reason not to do something. I have three dogs where I live. Two are basically twins that want to do everything together and the other likes his own space. And it is almost impossible to give attention to only one because everyone gets jealous. Having more than one pet is a lot of work, money, time, good and bad. If your only reasoning for another dog is a playmate just continue to have Haku play with friends dogs or dogs at parks. It sounds like he's content with his life right now and you seem to have more responsibilities with your own life where it wouldn't be fair on the other dog. Because regardless of the reason you get it a pet is commitment 100%. If you can't give it the same time and effort that you're giving Haku then you're not ready and maybe should wait until you move back to the states. I really hope this didn't come off as mean or harsh. Happy birthday.
