SEOUL VLOG - Olympic Park & KOREAN Cold Noodles! - South Korea Travel 2022 서울 브이로그 ㅣ미쉐린 가이드 평양냉면

After moving to Seoul a few weeks ago we are now exploring more of Seoul by heading out to Seoul’s Olympic Park where we stroll around eat some lunch and visit the beautiful rose garden. Nestled in the south of Seoul’s Han River next to Lotte World Tower, Olympic Park held the 1988 Olympics in the city. We also head over to a famous North Korean cold noodle restaurant where we taste a complex yet simple delicious dish.
So come along with us and explore Seoul, South Korea!

Those cold noodles looked delicious, but I can almost guarantee I'd prefer the South Korean version. My favorite part is the super chewy noodle, and being able to add extra heat and mustard to the broth! I'd definitely still try this version though. 😊

Haha yes, regular Korean naengmyeon has stronger flavor for sure. But I think this one is one of those you may not fall in love at first, but you think about it next day and go back for more. I've heard stories of people who did not like it at all at first then ended up getting addicted to it. haha You should come and give it a try!

For better understanding, this Olympic park area used to be a part of the old capital region (BC 18 to AD 475) of Baek-Je (BC 18 to AD 660), one of three kingdoms in Korea, before unification in AD 668 by Shilla . That's why this park is humongous as the park contains some walls and remnants of that kingdom. You see the water stream? That is the moat around very old earthen fortress which stretches out several kilmeters.

Hi Monica, subway system is pretty easy. Hotels in this area can be tricky unless you choose Lotte hotel Jamsil, I don't think there are not very many decent ones. There are several stops to get to the park, but we suggest you to go to line no.8 (pink line) Mongchontoseong station. Or, you can get off at Jamsil station and walk. We suggest you to download Naver Map app, it's in English and will tell you exactly where to go. At Mongchontoseong stn, you will be right in front of the World Peace Gate. If you watch our next video, we went to really good Korean restaurant right in front of that gate. Highly recommended. Best of luck to you!

Hodu had a EU passport so other than doing bloodwork for rabies and necessary vaccines, etc it wasn't too bad. We explain a bit during our last video but as long as you have the paperwork, it was pretty smooth.
