    @@ddr7246 I personally like the music and the lyrics of Auferstanden aus Ruinen but the GDR sadly was only a soviet satellite state and far from being a democracy. For this reason the anthem can't qualify as anthem for the Federal Republic of Germany.

    This would have been the better anthem. It talks about post-war rebuilding, a wish for a unified Germany and hope for the future. Not to mention that it has an original melody!

Trust me, my grandma lived there. Everyone worked, but no wealth was formed. Without the reunification i woudve given the ddr 5 years AT MAX before the complete collapse.

    @@ddr7246 youre so blinded. Please, get your shit together. The whole ussr economy was at its end, noone wanted to buy anything from the DDR. Everyone worked, but the personal wealth didnt rise. DDR maked its money trough selling weapons and lying to their people (for example pretending they need blood for an earthquale in yugoslavia but then selling it to other countries) do your research men.

    DDR was the workers republic, and while they may not have had Mercedes Benz and millions of euros in debt for each person just to afford housing, the citizens of DDR had much more important things in life, like guaranteed housing, guaranteed jobs, guaranteed healthcare and guaranteed education, for free.

    Did you live in the DDR? My family had to escape in the back of a truck to Austria in search of a better life. In their eyes, Malta was complete paradise compared to East Germany.

    the funny fact is there are historic clubs in Germany today praise this dead nation, but I can't found any club praise your dad or your grandpa. There are some special supermarket today in Germany just sell the former DDR stuff, but there isn't any supermarket or store sell your image, or Hitler's one.That fact can say something.
