There are even single player games that are laid back with story like Minecraft and Animal Crossing, then those where you can just jump in like sports or fighting games, many Nintendo games too that focus on the fun factor rather than story. I’m a be honest as someone who liked the first game, I’m disappointed by how little it seems they improved it. It’s just a really good looking game now. Story might be good, but improving the gameplay was what I was hoping for all these years. We waited too long for this.

@@OtakuUnderground92 You haven't seen the video, the fights are crazy, even gamepspot found them difficult, a lot of effort was put into the gameplay, the gap seemed huge between 1 and 2. To be honest start by watching the video, these are fights that you have seen not cutscenes, lol yes it seems incredible I know.

@@emiln768 he said the music escalates during battle … i guess indicating that you’re almost at the end of the battle. Not really “music is a health bar” but i guess you can think of it like that… for the bosses at least Or atleast in this demo.

My issue with 1 was the chromatic aberration effects. Personally, I could not get on with the vertigo inducing effects. Beautiful game, great audio design, but seasickness was not for me. I’ll see how I get on with this when it’s released.

30fps is fine for most games, you only really need 60fps for competitive pvp games - online shooters, fighting games etc. Most people complaining about 30 FPS probably don't understand FPS or they're just looking for any excuse to hate, just ignore them.

It looks good...I still haven't found the time to play the first one. It's in my library, but it's sort of been a BG3 Winter, Elden Ring before that, and probably Elden Ring again after the dlc. I want to play Hellblade, but never enough to make it my current game. Change my mind?

I would love to see that journey on the big screen (with that 300's fantastic/real atmosphere or something like that iykwim)

Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2 (with some ray tracing), Stellar Blade, Forbidden West all run 60fps, this game absolutely could do 60 frames with effort put into it. All of those games are on par or better than this in terms of fidelity

Man, as someone who enjoyed the first game and even liked Ninja Theory’s DmC gameplay this just looks mid from a combat perspective. I get that this is more narrative focus, but dang it you would think they would’ve completely evolved the combat. I know they said that they “don’t want her to be a superhero”, but this combat just sluggish to me. Very tired of these slow action titles with a weak combo game. This did nothing to change my mind from the last dozen previews. At least they finally showed a lengthy chunk of combat I guess.

this just looks like the quarry, but with viking and a bit more interactivity, tbh this game looks on rails walk walk walk puzzle, cutscene, very scripted fight, walk walk cutscene over and over.

what you have seen is gameplay, not cutscenes, it sounds incredible but true !

It sounds exactly like he's describing the first game. 😂 I'm excited because I actually loved the first game, but seemingly nothing has changed. From the sounds of it he seemingly hadn't played the 1st game in some parts of the video (mentioning the mirror as if it was new), then in others it sounds like he had (mentioning the differences in how the Valkyrie's interact with Senua). Judging by his movement in combat his health was low, and it seems that he didn't quite understand how to parry attacks. Typical game journo these days. 😂 I'm happy this game got a sequel, it deserves it. Unfortunately I don't have a gaming PC or a Series console. 😅 It's the one game I'm hoping comes to the PS5 now that Microsoft is putting games on rival platforms.

Getting flewed out to the studio and glowing previews? Yeah microsoft dropped some bags for this review.

Combat looks the exact same as the first game just a little bit more of a move set

"Combat Looks Beautiful And Feels Badass" ...and now that it's out, I can tell you the combat is utter nonsense and feels like someone else is controlling it. Long animations and scripted hits make whatever button you are mashing almost completely pointless. It won't go off, or it goes off waaaaaay too late, or it simply gets interrupted by the baddies insta-attacks over and over and over. They removed the "melee/stun" attack completely and the light vs heavy are no different, so you have a dodge that rarely works and a hit. The end.
