Thank you!!!!! As a child my greatest heroes were the SOE, European Resistance, British Special Operators, and close combat instructors. Their struggled led me to a dedication and belief in righteousness against tyranny. While we may have political differences, it does not lessen my respect for this woman's brave stand in defense of her occupied homeland. May I wish her a very Happy 100th Birthday! 🎉👏🍾🥂

That’s a great comment Josie - we grew up having similar heroes - it’d be v interesting to try and nail down a list of your top 10 favorite characters! 🤓

@OdysseusFiles You have covered several of them and I am thankful. In addition to Yeo-Thomas, I grew up admiring Max Manus, Faurschou Hviid, Freddie & Truus Oversteegen, Virginia Hall, Nancy Wake, and several others who were not in WW2 such as Jelly Bryce. I don't want to go on and on, but these individuals selfless courage inspire me to this day. It is commendable when a man risks his life fighting bravely with his comrades against terrible odds, but it is unbelievable what some of these heroes did alone with no witness to their peerless courage.

Never heard of this woman. Thanks for covering her Odysseus Files. BTW you should also cover First Sergeant Benjamin F. Wilson, the US Army’s most deadliest soldier who won the Medal of Honour in Korea in the Battle of Hwach’on-Myon when during his company attack on a position called Hell’s Hill he rushed forward and killed 4 North Korean submachine-gunners, then led his men in a bayonet charge that killed another 27 NKs, then when his position looked like being overrun he launched a one-man charge that killed 5 NK and wounded 2 more until he was shot in the leg. The medics then attempted to take him back for treatment only for him to escape and rejoin the fight, killing 3 more NKs until they wrestled his rifle from his hands, prompting him to draw out his shovel that he used to kill 4 more NKs. The very next day he single-handedly killed 33 Chinese with his rifle, bayonet and grenades reopening his wounds in the process. He was recommended for the Medal of Honour again but had it changed to the Distinguished Service Cross as the Army.

@@UlyssesFiles I have written a script on Albert Jacka, along with ‘Mad Harry’ Henry Murray, the highest decorated WW1 soldier in the entire British/Commonwealth Army & Lieutenant Lawrence Dominic McCarthy aka the ‘Super VC’ who almost single-handedly captured 460m of Hindenburg Line trenches, killed 20 Germans & captured another 50. They’ve been meticulously researched with multiple sources if your interested.

In the future do you think you may cover Wing Commander Yeo-Thomas, the White Rabbit ? A sterling SOE agent, Auschwitz inmate, and lifelong adventurer. He even testified in SS Colonel Otto Skorzeny's defense in the postwar War Crime trials with hands still showing his torture at the hands of the Gestapo. It was his testimony that insured Skorzeny was not given the death penalty. His principles and bravery were his armour.

I’ve never heard of this interesting woman before. Very fascinating indeed! Speaking of the Vietnam War, I have a suggestion: The Battle of Long Tan in August 1966. It’s where men from D Company, 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment repelled a 2,500-strong North Vietnamese and Viet Cong force in the Long Tan rubber plantation. Supported by gunners from 161 Battery, Royal New Zealand Artillery, the Aussies held on until reinforced by APCs. Thank you!
