    Deka on Shout DVD will be the first time we see the bumpers before the episode starts so now starting with Deka these will be similar to what Japan has on their DVD. I've seen Go Busters episodes and Bouken on Brazil DVD so now starting with Deka these will be more like what you see in Japan. It's good Shout did that for Deka so it may be likely how the episodes will be on DVD. I've watched 20 episodes on the set and the subs are pretty solid. There have been complaints the subbing was stolen. I'm just glad we got Deka in the USA finally. Too bad we lost 3 years before 5 Man and Aba but better late than never. I like Deka. Worth the wait.

    same here, if I can't get free shipping then I usually wait until I can and because I likely stopped with Timeranger, I apparently should be okay. Thought I had Gaoranger but I guess Timeranger and Jetman were my last ones but it works out for me since now I could hopefully do Gaoranger and Fiveman then Hurricanger and Abaranger later on. I don't care for Kamen Rider or Metal Heroes stuff not to say that I wouldn't buy them but Sentai is more of a higher priority especially since they aren't doing the 1 Kamen Rider that I really want to see

    Yeah, there's a reason why I've taken to picking up Super Sentai DVDs only when I see them in stores for a really cheap price, after I bought Zyuranger and pre-ordered Dairanger way back in the day. And because that's an infrequent occurrence I only have three of the sets, Jetman, Zyuranger, and Dairanger. And I only got Zyuranger and Dairanger because they were available on Amazon. But if they're limiting them to the Shout! Factory website going forward, I'm probably not getting those particular sets.

    I always imported them from Amazon US to Scotland so it’s a pain thinking of ways to get them here now. Like maybe I could get them ordered to my friends place in Seattle then pick them up when I visit but I wouldn’t have to do it if they offered international shipping or made them available elsewhere. Like I’m not even gonna think about using eBay to get them because they’ll probably be priced up too much. If you can even get one that’s not a bootleg.

  • @maingamer6846
    @maingamer6846 Жыл бұрын

    Fiveman was weird to watch, not because of the subtitles but rather the fact that we actually got it on DVD after all these years. Sadly don't own Abaranger yet (just got Gaoranger and Hurricaneger for Christmas), but I'm curious how the whole subtitles thing works with that. Also hope that with Dekaranger that they go back to the way they were doing it with Saban.

  • @jintaros
    @jintaros Жыл бұрын

    I ended up watching Fiveman for the first time with this DVD release and while I hated the CC only thing for the subtitles, it wasn't that bad once I got through the first half. I still wish it wasn't the only option though. Also as I was looking through the Abaranger DVD, since I ended up getting it a bit early and was answering some questions about it that my friends had, I noticed that they would switch between leaving "Bakuryuu" untranslated and translating it as "Blastasaur". Seemed they found a consistency at first of calling the team "Bakuryuu Sentai" and calling the mechs "Blastasaurs" until there's the episode title translated as "Abare Baby Bakuryuu". The episode title refers to the new mech they get that episode.

  • @Soundout12

  • @Soundout12

    @Soundout12

    The only reason I can think of as to why Shout and Mill Creek don't release SD Blu-Ray is because of their parent companies wanting to avoid market confusion. SDBD works in anime and nicher circles, where the wider market doesn't understand the concept and companies end up avoiding the better option

    While this hardly matters at all, I found it weird that for Abaranger, they used ū to spell Bakuryū (Bakuryuu). Whereas for Fiveman, they spelled out Chikyuu instead of Chikyū. Same thing with Jetman getting Chōjin instead of Choujin. Tiniest nitpick in the world, but I thought it strange. Also, I really hope they can work out the licenses for movies soon, since they're now getting referenced back in the show starting with Abaranger. If we somehow make it to Gokaiger and we don't get the 199 Movie, that's a massive plot hole that's unresolved from the viewer's perspective.

    I have Deka on DVD and I will say that it's weird seeing Space Patrol Delta on the cover given that you see the actual team with gun belts on the uniform. Also Break was a light ball when he was de morphed. You never saw Sam except in Endins Part 2 so to have a 6th Ranger not in human form was very off putting to say the least. In Deka we see human de morphed Break Ranger.

    Knowing and seeing how they do the Sentai releases, I think I'd honestly pass on a Gokaiger release, even though it's a series I've wanted to own on home media for years. But I get a feeling they'd be DVD only for consistency with past releases unless Boukenger changes that going forward, and even then, deals for how they get licensed would probably mean no 199 Heroes, Ghost Ship, or VS Gavan movies, or even the 36 Gokai Change special, when at the very least, you need 199 Heroes for story purposes given the Goseigers give the Gokaigers their ultimate power with a reference to the team up and a use of the Goseiger Keys in Gokai-Oh in Gai's debut episode. Plus, being in the UK, I'd have to get it imported anyway, so I wouldn't see it as worth it anyway unless they went that lot further for a popular series like Gokaiger.

    My guess is them being Shout! website exclusives is some deal they have made with Hasbro in order to release them. I don't agree with them costing too much though. We're paying nearly a dollar per episode, which is a steal in my book. Most anime releases are the same price for like 10-13 episodes. I also disagree with you on not buying them. Unlike with anime, we don't get the luxury of passing on Toku releases because a lost sale could jeopardize more releases. I love how they look spined. As for the inconsistency, that's just normal. Even the Doctor Who season BD sets are inconsistent with their font sizes and lay out.

  • @Scsigs

    @Scsigs

    Жыл бұрын

    My thoughts exactly. It's a new release of the raw Sentai episodes subbed over here. Given, on average, we have 45-51 episodes (some having more, some less) per series, almost $50 for the sets at launch for the sets is fine. Could be better, but it's not bad. I acknowledge that it IS in the eye of the beholder, but I'm mainly glad to be getting these sets at a price I find fair & people can always wait for a sale, or something where the sets are discounted before ordering them. That makes sense.
