ZeEa Fraud Thiago is a good shout, very well rounded midfielder. Edit: Sorry not a good shout. He already came through Barca’s academy and I don’t think Barca would want him back. Plus his age means his legs will give in quite soon. Fred is currently still the best option imo.

As a Man United fan, I want Fred to stay but if Barca come calling then I won’t have any hard feelings. To trade a bench spot to play in the heart of Barca's midfield is something that doesn’t happen too often.

To be fair to Fred, he's one of the main reason that kept United on Champions League ticket run this season. He started 23 games as DMC and got 7.2 average rating at Whoscored, bar subs. That number is very good. But I doubt United will sell him anywhere under 50m.

It depends on the game style. Id personally prefer a futbolistic player in the midfield position. Not that Fred isn't sophisticated technically for his role. I'd rather see Aleña where Puig is purely as an experiential preference, and potentially another type of "8" with great passing volume, who won't roam forward as much. & not sure how much Id trust Frenkie at 6 given his tendency to maraud forward at times.

Barca needs someone who can shoulder the defensive burden on the midfield. Someone who can pressure opposition player to make mistakes and lost the ball. They need a Mascherano/Yaya Toure replacement more than Vidal replacement. And the answer is Fred (whose strictly defensive contribution and only defensive contribution soundly defeats other great CDMs last season such as Ndidi, Jorginho, Rodri, and even edging Kante by four Impect defensive points albeit Kante is marred by injuries). It's curious which part of the internet convinced them that Fred is a bad player. United is just a bad team for him because they are too keen on playing Matic who can contribute on the offense more.

Fred was always a consistent 7/10 for us this season. When the rest of the team was dreadful he was our shining light. The problem is that he's not good enough at attacking to replace Pogba or Fernandes and he's not defensive enough to displace Matic but he'd be perfect with a more defensive presence behind him in the midfield. I actually think this idea is quite clever. Which is why Barcelona won't do it.

Probably because United isn’t a selling club in the slightest so it seems like an odd transfer. When was even the last time a player left United willingly while the club wanted to keep him? Ronaldo?

Make a video on how underrated fred has been this season for Manchester United. And his tactical analysis.

Signing Fred is actually really smart, they are lacking box to box midfielders like him and he will deffo be even better for Barca than United since the PL requires physicality whereas La Liga is more technical. Because Fred isn't a very physical presence, he definitely will improve even more at Barca. Plus Portugese is similar to Spanish so he can settle in quickly and he's friends with Neymar who also will probably go there.

we wont need a vidal replacement as we alreasy have one: Monchu. He plays similarly to vidal and can learn from the experinced players. He wouldnt cost anything and wouldnt need time to adapt. Also Lautaro should not come because of his enourmous transfer fee and his post lockdown form has been questionable. Great video though!

Fred wouldn't play at all. Hell Pjanic will barely play. Barca's current midfield is: rakitic, busquets, De Jong, Puig, vidal, with la masia still producing players like collada, Fernandes, Alena, and monchu. Fred wouldn't fit in the squad at all.

thank you for mentioning fred, i always thought fred is world class and highly underrated , technically he is excellent , can play long and short passes and can defend as well but his biggest weakness is his strength, he is too weak for premier league , thats why i personally believe he took time to settle at united , i think he can settle well at barcelona where emphasis is more on possesion based football.

*New president and board* is probably their most sensible move. *Sergiño Dest* is raw but has very very high potential. Recently Bayern were also in for him but he has revealed himself as Barca fan, so I'm bit skeptical. _But For Barca it would make sense._

@NathanBrown GBE Not really at-least imo. You should have watched celta vigo match. He just starts to jog back after like 60-70 min. And even before that he is just too aggressive and lenglet is much better, so does not makes sense to keep him in such high wages. Garcia has 1 year left in contract there is no way city get 30-40 mil out of someone who has rarely played for them and has a year left in contract. at most 15 mil with addon to make 20 mil otherwise just wait till january or even get him for free next season. Araujo is good enough to be 3rd choice and keep todibo for 4th choice or even loan someone for 1 season to do a job as 4th choice.

About the player I want us to sign, we need a striker i don't know if lautaro is good enough for the price, but he can do good here. Other than that dest as said in the vodeo can also be a good investment, I think pedri is a good signing. I can think a midfield of pjanic/busi(as cdm) de jong (as a ball progressor not cdm as many people think about him) and puig/pedri(advanced midfielder) is good enough and we don't need to sign anyone else,with hopefully rakitic leaving and vidal used as a substitute.

Sensible transfer could only happen once Bartomeu goes. Barça have some good young players but unless they make it too first team, they would never reach their highest potential. I hope Trincåo will get some minutes next season. Viscaelbarça

For most players 27 is within their physical prime. Thay said, Barca cannot and should not go from one age extreme to the other with only a bunch of 17 to 23 years olds. A couple of high quality mid to late 20s year olds are actually necessary... experience is still necessary.

Surely Sensible Transfers: Chelsea makes sense! The club with resources and actual movement in the window this season. Also a lot of holes

The best thing to do now is to do an updated sensible transfer of Barcelona

Fabian Ruiz from Napoli and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio would be awesome addition to the middlefield along with De Jong; both only at the age of 24 & 25 while offering physicality (avg 190cm or 6.2ft) and balanced in defense and creative attack.

With carles alena coming back and monchu promoted to first team probably cmf is not a position they need. At cb if garcia returns, they need one more, . They also need a young winger as Dembele is mostly injured. Semedo is going great . He isn't one to be replaced either.

A right-back sensible transfer would also be Vladimir Coufal, great stamina-wise and attacking-wise. The bad thing is that he just signed a new contract so he would be pretty expensive

Credit to Tifo for undertaking this video with so many things up in the air for Barcelona's transfer window. The positions that will be reinforced is more about what Barcelona can afford instead of what positions the club needs to reinforce. That said, the selections made by Tifo seem to fit the theme that clubs (especially Barça) won't have much money to spend this summer. Here are some notes to the choices... Striker - Donyell Malen and Joaquin Correa both fit the budget, but Correa not being a natural striker should disqualify him as a "sensible" transfer immediately. That was the problem with Griezmann and his profile is 1.5x that of Correa. Malen does make sense but he would be a stretch as ready to come in and contribute now. Barcelona obviously wants Lautaro Martínez, but the club is going to have trouble affording him this summer. More than any other, this is the position that needs to be reinforced. Midfielder - Transfers out will dictate this position. Culés will be furious, but there is no guarantee Rakitic and Vidal will actually be leaving the club. Tifo does a great job of explaining how wages is the bigger reason to move on these players even more than the low transfer fee they will attract - but those wages are also the reason they might not find buyers. I agree that the profile that Barcelona would look for is that "Vidal-type", and the selections are reasonable. Caqueret, Sangare, and Fred (who may be too expensive) would all make sense, but the club is bringing in Pjanic. Between Busquets, de Jong, and Pjanic, a player that will play as a deeper midfielder (as three of those are) may not be necessary, at least this coming season. Vidal's best asset for Barcelona is actually is ability to support the spine of the team with his movement behind the forwards and into the box (plus the goal-scoring). He's known for his tackling abilities, but replacing Vidal is a little more complicated than that. Defender - We've spoken about Dest at length (1/2 American bias on the podcast), and it does seem like the easier answer, Emerson, will be sold anyway. Where Tifo gets it wrong is slotting in Roberto as the starting RB. That is Nelson Semedo's position at the moment, and while an upgrade is wanted by the fan base, Sabelli and Tejero are certainly not better than Semedo. Dest isn't either, but he may be someday soon. Sabelli and Tejero are "sensible" (read affordable), so again credit to Alex Stewart and company for the selections. Lastly, really enjoy these and look forward to seeing other teams again!

Just a thought: How would Barça fare if they manage the following transfers (plausibility aside)? -Trade Semedo for Ricardo Pereira with Leicester. -Buy Upamecano (not a longshot) and Skriniar (defo the longest of longshots, Alaba could be another option). Sell Umtiti. -Trade Fred with Man U (for a defensive option), or Nkunku with Leipzig (for an attacking one). Outgoing options could be Dembélé or Griezmann (both haven't produced what their price tag implies, and Griezmann shouldn't have arrived after his LeBronesque video). -And get Lautaro, of course.

Tifo: Barcelona should make these transfers. Barcelona: Another summer chasing begging Neymar to come back for 200 million.

Fred is highly underrated in the PL. Prior to Fernandes arriving, Fred was putting in excellent performances and can help balance a midfield 3. He will be hugely influence in European games for United. Barcelona’s midfield isn’t great, it certainly is not better than United’s starting combo. Problem is people think any player stepping in to Barcelona is automatically great, outside of Messi, Ter Stegen.....Barca team is below the standards they have had over the last 10 years. Once Messi retires/leaves - Barce will be back to pre-Robaldinho days, a big club but not being a successful as it has been.

Fred can't be put in a 4231 since he is competing with pogba for a spot and pogba is much more effective attacking wise while Fred can help be the third cmf in barca to run around and keep possession and maybe even make late runs

Fred is a quality midfielder. Only people who don’t know football will say otherwise. He may not be a starter but he isn’t trash. If played in the right system with a clear role he will succeed. Ole justs lets the players do what they want he doesn’t give instruction.

How about putting Messi in the Vidal role? Puig and Messi as the midfield pivot. Add Monchu there as well. This would allow us to work with a normal right fullback, as opposed to a full back who operates as a wing back, leaving our right side either exposed in the back or in the front. Buying a real pacey striker like Malen should also be imperative. Not another second striker, we already have those in Braithwaite and Griezmann.

Not really. It did surprise me that his name was mentioned, but Fred isn't bad. He really stepped up this season when Pogba was injured, matic out of form , no Bruno until January. Would've been in race for player of the season if he continued playing regularly. There's a reason why Guardiola wanted him

Fred is the best defensive midfielder in PL defensively from Impect statistics. His offense contribution is subpar compared to other CDM like Rodri, Jorginho, and Kante, yet still better than Ndidi.

Then Trincao can go into Messi's position once he goes if they don't break the bank for someone Fati can also just be given the left CM? Buendia. Looks like he can adapt to such a role. Dribbling, penetrative passes...he could be excellent in that role RB? Youcef Atal. Expensive but totally worth it. It doesn't get more direct than him. What Trent does with crossing and passing he does with dribbling.

Brilliant video. Shows good understanding that a Barcelona signing needs to have a high profile just to get chance. A pragmatic criteria for an unfortunately toxic but undeniable factor at Barcelona. Almost anyone else but Tifo would have missed or at least underestimated this dimension.

They don’t need “sensible” transfers. They just need to trust the yought players like: Collado, Monchu, Juan Miranda, Sergi Darder etc.

this was so good, there's a lot of effort on this video, I'm glad to see your channel grow so much!

Joaquin Correa, now that´s an interesting thought. He is good enough to pull his wight, but not so good that he would be expected to start in every important match. He can also play in all positions in offense: as a striker, an engache, or on the wings. He could basicaly be used as a substitute from the bench, or replace any of the big three stars of the team whenever they needed to rest. He also wouldn´t be that expensive, at least in comparisson with some of the other purchases Bartomeu has made recently. I really like is idea. I think it could really strengthen the team in a sensible way.

I must admit, I burst out laughing when Fred came up on the screen 😂

Can you do a sensible transfers for Schalke 04. They are really struggling on the transfer market this year. Maybe you could give them some ideas

Semedo plays pretty well in Right Back. I don't see any problem there. Dejong plays pretty well in CM/CAM positions too, he is the creative one now. Barca need another CM for sure, puig is still too young to rely now.
