Neil is absolutely so well-spoken, and such a deep thinker, that it makes me a little sad. As a former "gifted child" myself, I know that the price I paid for that gift, was being unable to make friendships with people my own age. I'm having to spend my 20's and 30's catching up on THAT skill. It's frustrating, but it could have been worse. I could have gotten crippling perfectionism, or a constant state of panic. I know people who got those curses in exchange for their blessings. I merely hope that the price he will have to pay for his gift... will be one that he can handle.

I think we're all so used to the hardships that we deal with on a daily basis as a society that we normalize them. What that causes is for them to seem not as bad as someone who doesn't find them to be normal might see them as. So, the kids find the bad things they go through to be bad but also just a part of their ordinary lives and hence managable, and what the 90 year olds have gone through to be unknown and terrible. And vise versa. Personally, I still believe life is, as a whole, easier today than it was 90 years ago, but there are different problems now.

Neil is who we are before the realities of life kick in - before we come to know power dynamics, systems of oppression, the interplay between greed and self-interests, the upset caused when just & reasonable expectations are not met. We all are born with Neil's altruism, trust and outlook - but sometimes the energy necessary to maintain these invaluable assets in the face of life's many vicissitudes is an uphill battle.

I was blessed to have both of my Grandmothers. Both lived to the incredible age of 101. I just wish I’d asked them more questions about their lives as children and growing up in the early 20th century. But oh, the changes and discoveries that occurred during their lifetimes are astounding. I dearly miss them both.
My daughter’s name is Jordana and her daughter’s/my first grandchild’s name is Lily! What a blast to see this video because my Lily says very similar things about love that Lily in the video said. And Jordana reminds me of how articulate my own Jordana has been even from a young age. ❤️ The shared wisdom and perspectives from both ends of the age spectrum is priceless!

@Logan Paul my point is that you need to know how and when to use it. If you’re using social media just to gossip, take pictures of you looking for validation, etc. all of the wrong reasons then you’ll be pretty much unhappy. If you use it to communicate with family, a dear friend, work, etc then I don’t see the problem. Social media is like a double edge sword. It can be beautiful and yet can be dangerous and a loop of constant depression. I talked to this because of self experience.
