Heads up for anyone who just wants to try this out using a "trial" account in the US. Sending SMS with a "local" 10-digit twilio number requires setting up an A2P 10DLC "campaign" which you **can't** do without upgrading from the trial account. Sending via toll-free (not local) phone number instead, requires registering an existing business with details like an EIN. There is no longer an option to just set up a trial account, pick a number, verify a few recipient phone numbers, and send SMS messages. The API call might succeed, but the message won't actually be sent until you jump through all those other regulatory hoops.

Yes, its a headache, it has truly been everything but smooth. The platform itself needs to be cleaned up and obtaining support has been impossible.

It's super confusing to a newbie. I spent soo much time trying to figure out what to do. I reached out to support who gave me a 'ready made, don't bother reading the question answer' - that didn't help. The above message at least helps and tells me NOT to try and get an account. 👍

Hi! To send an MMS you need to pass in a MediaURL parameter to the POST request that contains a URL to the picture you want to send.
