Sending A Probe Around The Sun | Universe Explorers | BBC Earth Science
Ғылым және технология
The Sun is far more mysterious than anyone could've thought. But thanks to the Parker Solar Probe, we now can understand it more than ever! Meet the scientists and engineers who helped make this incredible mission happen in episode three of 'Universe Explorer'.

If only space was everyones focus 🥰
So damn amazed about the human desire to understand our reality we exist in. So damn proud I share an existence with such amazing humans who work at answering these question!! 👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍 keep up the great work you do!!!
The parker probe is also the fastest man made object so far.

My weekend special 💖
This is amazing, kudos to the intelligent team.
Thank God for smart people like that we have here on this spoiled earth!!!!!!
Jus beautiful watching this whole video . Thank u guys ❤❤
Wow amazing 😻
Very impressive 🛰️
Science is so freaking cool!!!
I really appreciate everyone that was involved opinion. I did not get any information on what everyone accomplished. Meaning the mission.
That’s insane sending something to the sun ?!?!????!!!!!! That’s cool
Makes me think of the Sun Station from Outer Wilds 🤩🌞

Wow good thing about the 👏🤞 NASA Solar probe
Have yall seen the videos of the planets they had to pass to get to the sun?
It Would be amazing when we'll get the closest to the Sun ☀️!
Probably need a fleet of probes with navigation communication around the sun you can’t transmit through the sun.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
i love how given enough time and persistence, nasa can get it done
Going to go listen to Closer to the Sun by Slightly Stoopid after this.
My name is on it's memory drive :)
🎉🎉🎉
The sun for me is the one of the interesting and mysterious...
It is unbelievable that we can make a satellite that revolves around the sun. To understand the magnitude of this task, look at the sun for a few seconds.
practically its a sandwich that will never get toasted.
Ok little probe get out there and tell us what's up with our giant unshielded fusion reactor, good luck little buddy

Missed opportunity to call it Icarus, but pretty cool nonetheless
I live in Alberta, Canada, and we have massive forest fires right now. I have a question, because of all the smoke, the sun is a red color. I took my binoculars out may 20 and looked at the red sun and I saw a huge rectangular black object on the left side of the sun and above to the right saw a line of black Grey circles in a row. I am in central Alberta, and it was maybe 7 pm, looking west? Does anyone have an explanation for this. I observed it two days in a row.

sun spots. the smoke will bend the light of the sun to a red hue. probably.

The sun color will change according to the atmospheric conditions on earth because of the light refraction. I am not really sure your observatory time and method but the black spots occur on the surface of the sun are mostly the sun spots. It's because of extremely strong magnetic pressure of the sun's certain regions.
@LawofMoses

@alicemay4861 I know what sunspots are and what shape they should be. I have never heard of a nearly square spot. I saw several gray circles which problem were probably spots but the completely black rectangle was not normal. The sun toned down the sun so it could be looked at through regular cheap binoculars.

@@LawofMoses Okay. If I am correct, the circles around the sun would be sun halos. As you mentioned, there were some smoke so the light is refracted through it. Well, about the rectangle or nearly squared shapes on the sun, (I think) since the sun is rotating itself, the forces may stretch out and resulting those kinds of shape.
IT WOULD BURN UP , NO WAY ...
The average swimming pool is 29oC not 20oC
I still fail to understand why this probe is not melting. I have listened to different explanations, but still cannot get it. The Solar wind can easily get to the back of the Parker probe and burn those instruments. Why doesn't that happen? How does that 20°C temperature maintained?
If it's so hot why don't they leave at night
Somehow we still can't afford universal healthcare, research into extending human lifespan, eradicate disease, etc.....

The sun also produces water in Earth's atmosphere by ionizing oxygen atoms in Earth's atmosphere. The sun's plasma contains free floating protons and electrons that can attach to the ionized oxygen in Earth's atmosphere. Higher energy electrons can break the bonds of lower energy electrons.
Earth : I'm gonna prob your behind. Sun : That's rude.
That ball of fire is God. The true giver of life. And the true consumer of life.
When Parker touched the sun, it likely was never heard from again…
Dear BBC, please stop using non-metric units in a scientific video essay. Miles and inches are not used in science universally

Yes! Even NASA use metric. Its just the U.S. Myanmar and Liberia that the rest of the planet has to cater for 🙄 unfortunately our uneducated American friends cant understand metric
@keptinjack

Indeed, but this is to more widely disseminate the information, and a large part of the population will understand the imperial system. That's not to say it wouldn't be better to have both measurements given

Large part of population where? Just in the States!!!
@delusion5867

@@keptinjack There are only 3 countries in the world that use the imperial system: the US, Liberia and Myanmar. Adding their populations together (which equals 397,565,200 using numbers from Wordometer) and finding the percentage of that against the world population (8,037,764,520 according to Worldometer) gives us approx 4.9% of the world population that understands and uses the imperial system. So, it's more accessible if the metric system is used because a larger part of the population understands it.

I swear all these galactic or extra ordinary things that people scientifically do to the sun or amateur or anything messes with the sun and create these problems with the sun....solar flares holes 😂

@tluangasailo3663
Жыл бұрын
Nasa got tired of hearing people say, 'they can't go to the moon again!' So, you know what they did? They were like, 'Fine! We'll just go back to the moon in 2025!' Talk about taking 'challenge accepted' to a whole new level! Artemis 3 is coming!
THEY DIDN'T LAND ON THE MOON. NO GOOD EVIDENCE TO BELIEVE THAT.

@@jazznblues9496 Please just look to the context of that event. It was a competition with Soviet Union. Moreover, it has not been repeated, which is very odd given the fact that NASA repeats its space experiments. It is only until 2024, and look to the tests they have done and the cancelations so far as if it's not been done before while it's supposed the technology in this field has been developed since the 70s!! There are lot of factors that make us doubt about that event! On the other hand, all what you have are mockery and the official report from NASA!

Rocket science is not sci-fi, so going to the moon is just a big math problem yet still achievable back in the 70s. Also wouldn't you think that Soviet would be the first one to disprove USA's achievements. What stopped from NASA doing apollo missions is because of money. It's getting more expensive at the same time doesn't benefit USA that much anymore.
