I want to point out something about the "language barrier" thing. It actually seems to be a problem just for english speaking people. I'm Hispanic, and I've never had any problem listening to music in english or other language, and I'm pretty sure it's also like that for every other people that don't speak english as their first language. We all hear pop music in english and I see no one complaining about that. (Btw, sorry if there's any typo or mistake in grammar, I'm still learning english)

I agree with you fully. I'm Nigerian so my first language (unfortunately) happens to be English. I joined the Kpop fandoms in 2016 and introduced it to my friends and sisters, and they said they don't like it because it's not in English. But they were the same people jamming to Mi Gente and Despacito. Like what? So you can like Spanish but you don't like Korean because it's not English? I was like Huh? German here, I don't know what it so special about Korean but seems some people really are allergic to it. We had music charting in Germany already years ago in French and Italian and Spanisch, we even had one hit wonder in Romanian and Hebrew, we have Turkish songs and we have all the English songs obviously, why is it suddenly so special and hard with Korean? I really don't get it. Especially when in todays age translated lyrics are so easy to get. And yeah there's definitely a lot of US (+UK) centristic going on in my opinion. People from there assume just because someone is a star there they are charting in the whole world, when that is not even always the case and vice versa. Like stars form the UK e.x. are sometimes not even known in the US when the whole world knows them already, it's really a bubble they live in. I personally find it absolutely refreshing to hear music from all over the world. I was once in Paris on vacation with my friends and they played a song by a Nigerian on TV. Everytime I listened to it shivers ran down my spine. Music is apparently the only activity that involves the whole brain, we feel the music before we understand it.

I love that you put groups that are more underrated because everyone knows about the most popular ones. In this way, people can actually see that there are so many more amazing groups out there.

For me was quite different, I started to get into K-Pop through BTS and back then I started to over criticize myself to the point I was hating my person so much. Hating was definitely better than not caring at all. BTS made me care about myself. Now I'm not stanning anyone specifically but I feel so comfortable and happy in Stray Kids music, they helped me getting through the stress of this months and not giving up on myself

Kpop has been a blessing to me. When I thought everything was useless and I couldn’t do anything kpop came to me. Their music helped me become a better me. BTS taught me how to love myself before I love others. NCT is still the one I go to to get a good laugh. THE BOYZ is a whole different breed of people. TBZ make me laugh and their concepts are amazing. Kevin from TBZ is a whole mood. When I first saw kpop I was like “really? This is amazing. How can they just sing and dance and rap perfectly? This is perfection.” It hurts my heart when kpop idols get hated on. Like Dongpyo someone said he is fat. It hurt my heart. Not all kpop idols are supposed to be skinny or happy all the time. When idols go on vlive they don’t always seem happy. And then I think two years ago it was a whole thing with Renjun of NCT when he was left out in the rain alone. It hurt my heart seeing my idols get treated like that. But point is kpop is my happiness and it will always be.
