As 75 year old American voter, I'd add that the extreme divide among the electorate contributes as well. The left is comfortable with Biden, the right sees in Trump, an effective leader, that had the nation in a much better place during his term. The main problem I see with setting an age limit for president is that in America you are allowed to run consecutive terms, totaling 8 years. So when running for a first term, that would have to be a consideration for eligibility. Say, 75 was the limit to be seated as president. For the possibility of being reelected for a second 4 years would mean anyone running for president couldn't be older than 67, otherwise if elected to that second term they would by law be too old to serve!! If you place an age limit, you'd have to place a term limit. Sure does get dicey 😊.
