What Ted Kennedy did doesn’t fit the legal definition of murder. At best, it was manslaughter, at worst, negligent homicide. For it to be murder, it would have to be premeditated with the intent to kill. Regardless of what Kennedy did afterwards, what happened was an accident, and that’s essentially nonnegotiable.

A sniveling coward who killed a woman and was far more concerned with covering his ass than trying to rescue her, never faced any legal consequences. Screwed up America's immigration system. Got kicked out of college for cheating. Consumed barrels of alcohol while living out a long, bloated life. That's a mark I guess.

Ted Kennedy thoroughly redeemed his early life mistakes & deservedly died loved & respected. That was a beautiful & moving eulogy by a grateful son, & I say this having very recently lost both parents within 3 weeks of each other but after long & very worthy lives. My favorite part was how Ted Sr. invested the time & effort to build up Ted Jr.'s self-belief & inner peace after losing his leg at age 12. That was a real father!

You know I understand the people that are saying that the man is dead and we should have some respect. It still doesn't change the fact that he did some really horrible things while he was alive. You really think Teddy gave this big of a fuck about the woman he drove into the lake and left her here to die, not bothering at all to get her help? What about her and all the jokes he made about her death? Really hard to have any sympathy for someone who died when they murdered someone, and not only did they murder the person and get away with it because of their name, he made jokes about the girl. So when you think about making a comment about people being disrespectful on this comment section, think about Teddy Kennedy asking people if they have any new jokes about Chappaquiddik. Just sayin. Hard to have respect for someone like that in death.
