She was quite good -- springy hops, strong wrists, brave in the challenge. Positioning a little off on a couple of goals, which coaching can fix. Despite the four goals, Mexico looks to have the core of a solid team on this evidence. :) Not sure where their goals are coming from, tho.

Good chance Morgan wont be around much going forward. Happened to a bunch of players when they started families. I'm ok with it, it just means more Press. I always felt the US sacrificed a bit to tailor their offense around Morgan.

At the start of the second half I was just screaming put Christen Press in, she's gonna change the momentum of the game and give us a goal....And she did

I’ll say it again, this team is built on Julie Ertz and Samantha Mewis in the midfield.play Those two together and is guarantee to win.

Sam' shot was excellent. And Rapinoe is the best corner kicker. Lavelle and entire team is best of the best.

Mexican goalkeeper did her job. Mewis was next level on that Free kick 💨 ⚽️ 🥅

Lavelle and Press are rockstars, they don't get nearly enough attention, but then again, everyone on the US womens team is so good, its hard to single anyone out.

Actually, it's a genuine "football" reaction which shows how truly invested you are in the team and hopefully will have enough savvy to help minimize errors like these in the future. Training increases proficiency.

Lloyd was so frustrating to watch. Overall great game.

Please don’t scream announcer. We can take your voice normally, but when you scream it’s painful. It actually sounds like both announcers are having to shout to be heard. Would love them to take a page from the EPL announcers, have mics at a level so they can speak normally.

Although it was a convincing win- by score- it could have been so much more. Had the US ladies been better in the box, there were at least 4 potential goals. The Mexican defense looked like they weren't even in the same county. I do have to say that the tip save over the bar by the Mexican goalie was nice. Good win. Now, let's win the final!

Mewis and Horan "ridiculously" big and muscular, is like each one of them can beat the hella 3 guys at once.

*The acid test for this team and the new coaching staff will be when they face off England and Spain in the She Believes Cup.*

For all those saying Press should start. I'm a fan of Press but just because a player is great doesn't mean they should always start. The most important thing is how much overall playing time they get in each game. Sometimes not starting a great player is a strategy. Sometimes you want to hit the opponent when they are tired and other times you want to give your star player a rest.

I was there and i was so exited

So i watch the USWNT quite a bit...I like our chances in Tokyo because once again we have an embarrassment of riches as far as talent..however...Press is on fire right now and she should start and Lloyd should embrace her role as super sub..now Lloyd is gonna go down as one of the GOATS of womens soccer...as well she should. Her performance in the 2015 cup was one for the ages...I think one of the reasons we are so good is our midfield..they are the best in the world..period..Ertz. Lavelle, Horan, Mewis...killer...Eventually Vlatko will find that balance of youth and experience, these girls will get all the rust knocked off and they will be very very hard to beat.

The girls have more knowledge then the men’s USA team.

Really??? You don't know anything lol they only look good because the teams they play against are so terrible. Out of position, undisciplined, and just slow thinking. The women's team is only slightly faster than their opponents and better planned. But put any international men's team against this quality of team in a game and it would be a massacre.

If there are any four girls that should not miss in the US team (at least in the next two years) it should be Alyssa Naeher, Christen Press, Rose Ravelle, and Chrystal Dunn. There are many others in the team like Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Tobin Heath and others who make the US team strong, but these four tend to deliver more than their fair share.

Rose Lavelle is becoming quite the superstar. You can see how hard she works keep going strong rose

Been watching the USWNT a lot just recently, and the one thing that seems to have changed is that two teams are never the same, and while they have been creating many chances, they are rushing their attempts to score and are not working completely cohesively as a team. This will always be a feature of constant team changes. If you watch the best in the world, they have the ability to attack with speed, but are very considered when in, or just outside the box, and one of the things that enables them to perform at this level is being a member of a stable team. Even Lloyd, who is usually so measured, seems to have been caught up in this momentum of haste. The only one who still has it is Heath. She has the ability to stay with herself and her game, and doesn't get drawn in to play of others, be it the opponents or her team mates. I don't know if this is because the new coach has made people less sure of their individual position, which can happen when you introduce a host of new players and actively tell them their position is not secure, but it doesn't bring out the best in players. The USWNT won't get this many chances when they are up against stronger, more organised, and stable teams.

The play by the US in this tournament was to give everyone time to play. If this is true, and it looked that way, then setting up an even attack for the whole match is going to require some 'starters' to play the first half, some the second. That explains what we saw. When the big games come, the starters will start, if the World Cup is an example for this team. If the US fails in the Olympics, many will point to this experiment with the same opinion you've given here.

I’d still start Lloyd, she goes out and just hammers away. She knows how old she is and trains harder than her teammates. Her tenacity and drive to win rubbs off on the younger players. She had an off night but she’s still out there doing the little things to put her team in a position to win.

The whole team is fantastic, all of them are built to win. The secret is that all of them are hungry for goal. They don't want to loose that is another good mentality of the team.

I *LOVE* my expensive headphones so much! ...but not gonna lie, 2:16 burst my eardrums. I literally paid extra to damage my hearing. With that said, I loved the passion Lisa Simpson had. She can work on tone. I swear, too many blokes want to fire anyone for anything at the drop of a hat in the entertainment industry yet would whine if the same standard were applied to their line of work.

@AngryPretzel - Lloyd was on fire with the Sweden match (which I was at) and the friendly Costa Rica match at year's end. But, as you said, seems to have cooled off since. If she can find it again during SheBelieves and the friendlies afterward, send her to Tokyo. If she can't, Vlatko has given her a fair shake at proving her case, either way. That is what she asked for during the coach transition period last year, an honest chance. Best of luck for her coming up! EMPTY that TANK! 🥅⚽️💨⚡🔥
