I would LOVE more TPT videos. Your video actually showing the making of a product from start to finish was the most helpful for me, but all were great!

Hi! My name is Taminah and I’m a 5th grade math teacher. I have been a fan of you and have been inspired by you since starting my teacher journey 4 years ago. I love that you are sharing LOTS of your recommendations with us all to help us all be better teachers and human beings - whether it be your exercise videos, teaching in a classroom experiences, dates with you husband, and showing us the gates of how to sell on TPT. I love you ! ❤️ I want to meet you one day - hopefully. Sincerely, Taminah from NJ
Give us more! Thank you for the great series-I decided to jump in and start selling thanks to your series loaded with information and tips!
Thank you, Michelle! 👏🏻 This series has been incredibly helpful. I definitely am interested in more videos on this topic. 😊
Congratulations on completing the series! My two favorite parts were the Dwight clip after tip #5: "Our prices can't be any lower!!!!" and your advice about seeking your niche. Not being familiar with TPT selling in the past, I learned so much from this series. Within grade level teams at school, I think we also find out our personal niches so that we can divide and conquer the work. For example, one teacher on the team might create templates for grade level assessment data, while another creates an assessment, and another develops a letter to parents about preparing students for testing. All this to say that teaching is a balance of playing off of your strengths while also leveraging the power of collaboration with other teachers' strengths. I'm excited for your upcoming videos!

Oh my gosh... YES AMANDA! You hit the nail on the head! You're exactly right... we all have our niches within teaching and the best teams figure out how to leverage those strengths. I can't wait to see you tomorrow! 🖤
Yes, make more videos! Thanks!
You are awesome! Thanks for all the work. I recently retired but used your products when I was a teacher. I really found your products extremely helpful during the beginning of Covid when I was forced to go virtual. Me, an older person teaching my younger coworkers how to create on line useful work for our students because of you.

Wonderful series! I learned so much from all of your videos and wish I would have watched them before I started on TpT. I learned the hard way that not all etsy clipart sellers are legit. I would love to see your tips and tricks for beginning a new school year especially if you have had any experience with a combo (4/5). Thank you again, Michelle! 💛

I really like how far you have come from seeing you as a fourth grade teacher. I was curious how you sold your stuff on TPT when it says that we can't really do that if we are a teacher because of county contract rules.
Yes post more!!

Hello Michelle! Thank you for the videos on TPT! They are an excellent resource for educators looking to open their TPT businesses. I have a precise question on the topic of copyrights. As an educator, I have focused on elementary literacy instruction and enjoy creating resources that connect to literacy, particularly read-alouds. As a niche, I would like to focus on creating resources for read-alouds. I understand that I cannot use images from a book because those are copyrighted, but can I use the book's cover to indicate that the resource I've created connects explicitly to a particular book? I've seen some book covers on TPT, but I want to ensure that I am not violating copyright norms.
Hi! I really enjoy watching your videos and have learned quite a lot from them. Thank you! I would like to begin using a TPT sellers account but my main hesitation is taxes. I'm not sure that I could afford paying someone to help me with my taxes starting out. I'm curious, how far along or after making a certain amount did you decide to hire someone to help you with your taxes?
Extremely UNrelated but it needs to be said- GIRLLLLLLLLLLL your arms are FIRE!!!!!!!!! What are you doing??? Looking amazing!

I’ve been really enjoying these videos! Thank you!! I have a couple of questions, how did you come up with your business name and how did you come up with your logo? Thanks Michelle!

Thank you so much for watching and commenting Michele! 🖤 My business name was just something I thought of... I'm not sure how else to explain it lol. My logo was designed by a graphic designer I hired to create it!
HI! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us, it is truly helpful. As I continue to research and wrap my head around this new adventure, I have a question. I see you have a website; do you also sell your items directly from your website or just from TpT?
Such an inspiration!!! How about cc0 clip art. Is that ok?
It looks like you’re off to a good start on TPT. Do you do any marketing to target new teachers and sell more products?
I would like to see a video on how to get on a schedule to create 50 videos.
Love your videos, they are extremely helpful. One question is when should I LLC a business to sell on TPT? I see a lot of people with LLC. I know it is mainly for tax purposes, but is it that big of a liability to not have one?
"I love you back" :)
Love your videos & materials! I've retired now & am thinking of cleaning out my closet. Is it legal to sell work I've purchased from others? I'm thinking of having a "rummage sale". But want to remain ethical.
Enjoy these series. Can you do a video. How you feel about the teacher shortage going on. What your opinion on this issue.

Thank you so much for watching! There's a LOT that goes into my opinion about the teacher shortage but I don't think just sharing my opinion necessarily helps anything. I prefer to take action that will make an impact so I'm going to continue creating videos targeted at supporting teachers and making their life easier.

@@PocketfulofPrimary Thanks so much. I understand your concerns. That you want to make videos to inspire teachers.
I’d definitely like to see more videos about this! I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a shop on TPT for years now, but I’ve never done it because I’m intimidated. I think a checklist for starting up a shop would be helpful, similar to how you showed us your checklist for posting an item. Also, what to share on those extra pages that need to be included for resources that aren’t the actual resource itself. Also, what about tags? How do you know what tags to use when posting a resource? Thanks! Been a follower of yours for years! :)

Hi Julie! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! 🖤 I don't have a checklist for setting up a store but I did show the process in an earlier video in this series: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4msm7qFgajJgLQ.html As for the extra pages, I showed that process in these videos on creating a product to sell: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqptr86MadS4l84.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/imqk0tFsd9mzmJc.html As for tags, there's a lot more you can do with SEO but I honestly have never focused on that. You can do a Google search to learn more though because I know there are other sellers who specialize in that... I'll leave that to them! Thanks again!

Can I use "Canva Pro for Education" for commercial use?
@PocketfulofPrimary
Жыл бұрын
I am almost positive it does not include commercial use but you would want to reach out to Canva to check for yourself!
By the way, when you’re setting up to be a seller, you do have to be 18 year older
Mooooreeee
I was wondering , I have several of your products but there is no credit to the creator of your clip art , but you mentioned you don’t create it yourself. I’m not asking for you to reveal your specific place for the clip art you are known for , but how can I do that as well. For example find clip art I didn’t create but don’t have to credit the author and still be able to use it. Do I need to find a graphic artist willing to sell me their clip art exclusively or how does that work ?
@PocketfulofPrimary
Жыл бұрын
Hi Monica! That's a great question! A lot of clipart sellers on TeachersPayTeachers require their store to be credited which is why the credit pages became super popular within TpT products. However, not every clipartist requires their name/store to be credited. There are some commercial licenses that allow you to use the images without giving credit which explains why the images I use are not credited. Basically, you just have to read the terms of use for the images you want to use and the clipartist will tell you what is required or not required. Hopefully that helps!
I am just getting started with TPT selling. I have been a buyer for years. I have spent days watching tutorials on how to go about becoming a seller and have spent months editing everything that is copyrighted from my lessons. Now, as I complete my store and prepare to upload my first product, I was taken to a home page which showed a lot of other art teacher's products. I am seeing flagrant use of copyrighted images, such as book covers, and artists artworks! Their products look great and so colorful because all they had to do was screen shot images from published, (copyrighted,) materials. Apparently TPT must not really take those copyright laws seriously at all. I really doubt those people will ever get called out on their infringements. The page has a link to report the product to TPT, but you have to be the copyright owner to file the report. What are the odds that the suthor of "The Dot" will ever see this product on TPT?
@suea5280

Believe it or not, there is a chance of getting caught. Disney does huge sweeps on Etsy and TPT every so often, so I prefer to avoid using anything that is copyrighted.
