Yes. We are being conditioned by the usual propaganda and a lack of competition. It's really profitflation or greed-flation

Team transitory was about the unraveling of the aggregate supply shock created by the pandemic, which began causing inflation given demand was properly increased by both fiscal and monetary policy.

Redo this with interview excerpts of Prof Weber. She deserves to be seen along with the work, her and her colleagues did to expose seller’s inflation. Regarding the animation who were the orthodox economists & policy makers on team transitory and stagflation? (use excerpts of their papers, tweets etc.). This should be a multi-part series

Prof. Weber's paper and other work on this subject can be accessed via her website: Outside INET her website is a great resource www.isabellaweber.com/ This is certainly not the last of our videos with her (nor is it the first)! INET Animates are intentionally short-form introductions to or overviews of concepts. More coming on this subject, and in the meantime, we invite you to explore our channel for more in-depth materials.

Wait but there's no way people can do anything if every company engages in greedy price hikes?

So this theory is based on “back room deals” of retailers? This theory only hold weight if you assume every industry, including grocers and restaurants operate in an oligopoly. This is probably the case in some countries but not all, so this is a very poor theory. For an economics professor you seem to be anti-business.

This is not what happens in real life. Price hikes have started long before the Ukraine invasion had any effect on any level of the economy(power generation included). It is the lack of state oversight and checks of the prices and the corrupt cooperation of politicians and big firms (who return the favour by financing their political careers). They have allowed the "inflation" to take hold by not punishing criminal behavior (stockpiling in order to create demand). It is the black marketeers heaven. Like in ww2 some made big profits by cooperating with the nazi occupiers in order to maintain market share and extort customers. A kilo of meat for your gold wedding rings...
