Hi Edgar, yes but you can also place the text on the opposite side of the camera and have a pretty good eye line if you are in a scene with just one other person.

Thanks, Henry 😊 as I mentioned in the video, this would be great for auditions where they DO want you to look into the camera such as most commercial auditions and when breaking the fourth wall.

If you are doing a scene/monologue where you need to look to the side, you can open an app on your laptop/desktop. 😊👍

Hey! If it is a scene, you should have someone else read the lines. At least for acting, that is the case.

Hi there 😊 most casting calls I see, are not legally shareable as I pay to see them or my agency sends them to me. I share all of the opportunities I can. I do have lots of videos on Casting websites I use and how I got my agent. 😊👍

Of course! 😊 Yeah, I don't want to get in trouble be illegally sharing any info but I do give toy lots of tools so you can find these and more too.

Im still trying to figure this technique out.. I know you DONT want to spike the camera for TV and Film but you do for commercials.. So a teleprompter app over a camera is good for commercials but for tv and film i would think you need to have those sides off camera for where you would be looking at your reader. (i use WE Audition)... but thanks for the tips.

Hey! You can move the text around to move your eye-line if you are acting with just one other person. I also have used Actor Trade :)

Hey, I actually have not used a remote for the NanoTeleprompter. I usually just click play on it since I use it for self-tapes and my phone is pretty close. But let me play around with the remote I use for the camera and see if I can switch it to the teleprompter.

Does this app also trim videos and allow joining videos? Can I add a still shot with my name and phone number? Or is it better to do this in a different app? If so which one?

Hey! This is just a teleprompter, it is not a camera app. This goes over the camera on your screen.

Hi, please clarify: are you using the same phone for the audition that the teleprompter is on? Wouldn't that look like you're looking at the camera? Or are you using a separate camera for the video , and setting up your phone nearby to look at the teleprompter?

Same phone 😊 you can make the teleprompter rectangle smaller/bigger and move it around. If I need it to look like I'm looking at the camera, I put it on the screen next to the camera. If I don't want to do that, I move it to the opposite side of the phone.

Oh, I haven't used it with a remote. Did you try reaching out to the developer? They seem to be very hands-on and responsive.

I am not sure because I have only needed to use it on my phone. but The app creator is very responsive and includes their email in the app store.

Hi there 😊 yeah, it was a 2 and a half minute monologue and I prepared it and memorized most of it and used this app to reference little parts so I would send this commercial audition ASAP.

I just used this app for a very lengthy monolog and a super short deadline. The audition ended up great, and I was surprised by how natural it looked. No one could tell, that I was reading from a teleprompter app. But still... I feel like I cheated. Do you think the casting directors are fine with it that we are using this for auditions? Should we be honest when they ask us?

Hey! That's awesome If you couldn't tell. I usually can tell a little. I think it's not a terrible thing to do but if you are able to, memorising it instead is great practice especially if you get cast, you will already be familiar with the text.

Not about the casting director its about you. They dont care that you, I or other actors have an entire complex life to attend to and that sending in a 10 page in 1 day is slightly difficult haha. I think you definitely need to have the practice of breaking down and absorbing scenes with fast turn arounds but I don't believe you should expel all of your energy that you need for your day to day life on sending in work either you know

@@sweetbeep LMFAO I promise no CD gives a shit if you use a teleprompter. It’s not some huge breach of trust. That’s not even a question they would ask. They simply don’t care.

Hmmm... Not sure. I've never tried it. I'm sure if you ask the developer or look at the comments when you download the app, it might say it. I use it with my camera app on my phone.

Hahaha No, I don't generally script my videos word for word. I usually do an outline to make sure I remember everything I want to say. I use it when I am unable to memorize a large amount of text for acting auditions.
