Self Sufficient PERMACULTURE HOMESTEAD | Living Big on 1 Acre in Kenya
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Toto the Panafricanist grows most of his own food - including grains and protein - on his incredible self sufficient permaculture homestead. He's lived on the land since 2014, but it's only been three years that he's fully embraced permaculture and self-sufficient homesteading. Living big in his comfy tiny house, he is growing indigenous African crops, planting a food forest, harvesting rainwater, gathering firewood, digging fishponds...and still has energy and time for running, biking, yoga, art, chess, meditating, and fully taking in the beautiful Kenyan countryside.

You're wrong in saying our ancestors practised permaculture principles without even knowing it. They knew what they were doing. The term permaculture is just a new way of describing what Africans knew a long time ago and were already practising. Other than that I've enjoyed watching this video. The way you're living is the way we should be living. Where has all this development led us? It has led us to realizing that our ancestors were actually smart and lived eco-friendly lives. Cheers from Zambia.

There is nothing new under the sun just new man made terms. Our people always lived off the land, nutured the land, healing in the plants. The knowledge were taken, beaten, stolen from some of us but now we are seeing truth again. Thank you for sharing.
Great to see that Kenya is rolling out great teachers of Permaculture. Its just a matter of time and we will be the leaders in the continent!

I agree with you. It's so nice and heartwarming to see Africans moving forward and take command. You can teach and learn from each other rather than having europeans telling you what to do. Like they know what life in Africa is all about. Perhaps Toto's choice of words is not the best but HEY we are all imperfect and mistakes can be corrected. I have plans to move to Africa so I'm greatful for all local tips I can get. It's a huge difference growing stuff in cold Sweden from the scorching sun or the massive rains of Africa

I'd like to grow catfish. My friend had an old pond that was abandoned for years. One day my friend's dad wanted to clean and empty the pond, to their surprise they found HUGE catfish thriving in that pond 😂 They're really resilient and don't need much care, also yummy.
