I certainly cannot explain as good as sir explains the neuroscience but I myself have been studying it since long and got this channel while I was exploring on how to expand my current meditation practices. What I have read and done myself through the past few years is that self confidence comes from doing difficult and challenging things. We tend to associate our value with what we can do and what value we can create. Sometimes, considering your scenario your self confidence have taken a hit because you are unable to accomplish challenging things and create something which is of value to you. My advice would be, first start something step by step (do not get overwhelmed in the beginning) and do things that you personally feel are valuable be it mental, physical or financial and make it a routine in your life. Small incremental steps everyday in the above 3 aspects of life. Hope this helps and you come out stronger.
