Self Destruction
The Stop the Violence Movement was formed by rapper KRS-One.
During a Boogie Down Productions and Public Enemy concert, a young fan was killed in a fight; galvanized into action, KRS-One founded the Stop the Violence Movement. Comprised of some of the biggest stars in contemporary East Coast hip-hop, the movement released a single ('Self Destruction') in 1989 with all proceeds going to the National Urban League.

2024 anyone?
I'm a 1980s teenager. I'm 46 now. Who else from my era is listening to this in 2020? I LOVE it!!!
"I never ever ran from the klu klux klan and I shouldn't have to run from a black man". Dopest line in this song❤
How did rapping about knowledge become corny in the future?
Can we get a 2024 Self Destruction
They tried to warn us and we didn’t listen
The Music Industry don't want nothing like this in Hip Hop anymore. This was Authentic. Now today's music is trash.
Who’s here listening in 2023.. can’t believe I still know all the words..
It's a shame you don't see collaborations like this today.
Hip hop was so intelligent back in the day. That's why they dumbed it down. They couldn't handle the realness and rawness.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING THIS HIP HOP BACK, PLEASE🙏🏾👑
This song is more relevant now then ever
This song should stay in rotation. Even in 2023, they was preaching back in the 80’s.
So many legendary MCs on one Hit
Who's listening now in 2020 during all the destruction??
They tried to tell us........
“I shouldn’t have to run from a black man!”
Still bumping in 2019💯💯wake tf up
When rap/hip hop had real meaning. If only our community would have listened to this message and taken heed, now our communities 30+ years later are a mess. 🙏🏾
Still sounds good..51 yrs old and still listening to it
