Same. I couldn’t bring my son in the pool at a birthday party because their were too many people in the pool. I tried explaining to my wife she couldn’t understand. Too many eyes on me as soon as my shirt comes off. I’m a work in progress I’ve come to terms with it.

“The whole reason I started this podcast is to lift the athlete and sport up” - this is exactly what happened personally. Watching these podcasts have directly caused me to pay more attention to the sport in terms of watching the shows, following the athletes, etc. I’m sure I’m not the only one that thinks Fouad is actually such a positive force in this industry.

Thanks Fouad, Luke and every guest that's contributed to this show. Something that has kept us going through all the shit this year. A show that's ment to 50% "bollocks" ends up discussing some of the most important issues. All the best at the next show James bring it home for Luke 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Shawn Ray has been hurting this sport image for way too long. Fouad, we need you to make a stand for this, you got one of the most valued voices in bodybuilding community as well as huge Hostile team behind you to support, I think we can take this villain down if we all act together.

I have never related so much to anyone talking about anxiety as I have in the last few minutes, so I appreciate it like you wouldn't imagine. Loved the idea of treating anxiety attacks like you're in a game and not wanting to lose the game, like challenging yourself to beat that Motherfucker! Gonna give it a try myself 💪🏼. nice podcast guys! i relate so much to the anxiety. always thought it was just small anxiety that i’ve dealt with forever, but when i went to college it got so much worse. panic attacks at school, in line at the store, in line at a drive thru, in restaurants. anywhere where i felt “trapped.” ended up going to therapy and taking medication because it was something i couldn’t control. the gym is the only place where i don’t feel anxious at all, and the one thing that keeps me straight is perfecting my meals and training every day. glad you guys are so open about it, it’s definitely something not many want to open up about it. appreciate that!

You guys are amazing people. There’s nothing better than the transparency and honesty you bring to this sport and industry, and the life lessons reach way beyond just this industry. I am a relatively new fan of the sport, having lifted for 20 years and paid a little attention to the greats like Arnold, Ronnie, and Jay through the years. What you are bringing to the table now is exponentially breathing new life into this sport. As for the live streams, if they were cheaper ($10), and far better quality, with better commentators (for instance, you) that can educate and bring transparency to the shows, then you’d see hundreds of thousands of people become fans, buy the streams, and get more involved.

So much of the anxiety talk is relatable! Especially the 'when did it start' question! For me I think it's just something that built up from a young age and I was able to hide away and avoid things enough that I was just considered a quiet kid. Weirdly enough the thing that's helped me in my late 20's is the gym, it's the one place I feel confident and I'm fairly comfortable even when it's busy. I'm still the kind of person that avoids busy places and plans everything but it's a work in progress.... Also for most of my life I assumed absolutely everyone experienced anxiety to the level that I did, I just couldn't comprehend that other people weren't worrying the way I was. Always appreciate the honesty!!! ^.^

Just want to say how cool it is that Fouad was so open about his struggles with anxiety. Did a two year stint with that myself and until you do, you don't really understand. What fixed it for me was a book by Lucinda Bassett and a statement she made which became my mantra when I would have an attack..."The fear is real, the danger is not". Helped me face my fears and I've used it ever since!

What you said about the shoulder feeling "tired" is something I've experienced for YEARS and never got an answer on. 3 months ago I injured that shoulder and assumed it was the heavy bench sets (I hit a new PR with 5 plates). Now I realize I probably beat it into the ground a long time ago and it was just waiting to go. Thanks for the info man, keep it up!
