Hi sir, i am unable to do automation testing for games because it has canvas element present in game html code ,these canvas element should be select whole as image and we couldn't perform any action on different button in canvas (which are not traceable in html code)

I am about to start taking a Selenium course as part of a career transition (from manual). What would you suggest for me to take? Can I directly take Selenium with Java 17? If 17, kindly make a session on the config. setup. :)

Naveen. I still don't get it exactly. My understanding is that test cases would start failing from September 30th if we still use Java 8. And I need to use Java 11 or Java 17 to run my TCs. Correct me if I am wrong 😮😮

No issues with using selenium 2.x or 3.x. They will be on java 8. See they are not going to support java 8 selenium libraries. For example you are using selenium 3.14(java 8) and you lets say update your browser binary. After updating browser binary you encounter some issue with the selenium library due to which you are unable to run your test cases. Now you raise a defect with selenium team to have a look and possibly fix this issue. Now selenium team will respond to you saying we will not provide a fix for this issue as we no more support java 8 based selenium libraries 😊….now you get it ? Just hope that with new browser binaries we don’t encounter any issue with the existing libraries and functions.

We will not get any support from the selenium team to fix selenium-java based issues that might arise in future that’s it.

Sir..I'm Sowmya.. graduated in non IT field in 2015... after that i have prepared for gov exams but couldn't get through it... recently i hv taken software testing course selenium+python...now is it possible for me to be placed as a fresher?? Please give your suggestion...

They have revealed the version the yet…most likely new versions of the selenium library would be in java 11 and onwards…..They would not invest their time and effort on older version to migrate them to java 11
