I wish someone would invent a time machine to go back and tell the Quintanilla’s not to start a fan club, and to avoid that witch of a woman who killed Selena. God I miss her so much and I was born 9 years after her demise ☹️

I was just at a local thrift store, and all the songs they were playing today were by Selena. I didn’t expect it because they usually only play songs in English, but it made me really happy. I could tell everyone there enjoyed the music. Some people were even singing along. My Spanish teacher used to be one of Selena’s neighbors, and she played some of Selena’s music in class. That’s how I found out about her music. I really enjoy it. It makes me sad that her life was taken early.

Esta canción me encanta porque aunque Selena no creció escuchando esta música ni hablando español, se nota su pasión y compromiso al cantar, respeto a su profesión y al público. Se nota que se esmeraba por hacerlo lo mejor. Hay una anécdota que cuenta Suzette, que Selena se la pasaba ensayando las canciones en su casa todo el tiempo que podía, y la escuchaban cantar a cada rato, y la canción que más recuerda escuchándola cantar era el Toro Relajo. Don Abraham tmb cuenta que cuando grabaron estas canciones para la Película, ella estaba enferma de la garganta, pero ella mostró su profesionalismo al grabarlas porque sabía que la gente había ido desde lejos para poder grabar, y lo hizo muy bien a pesar de todo. Selena se preocupaba por darle el estilo y a la vez le Imprimía su propio sello. La verdad, mis respetos para esta gran cantante y artista que respetaba su profesión y que sabía que su mejor carta de presentación sería su voz, y al mismo tiempo fue una mujer completa y un gran ser humano. I was in High School in the NE when she passed. I had never heard of her at the time. I wish I had. Even then I would have liked to know the feeling of listening to her music without the feeling of missing her.
