I said this on another video; because i think both Selenators and Team-Grimmie still get confused as what these girls were to each other. And what Selena did for Christina; after she was discovered on KZread 2009, was help her become comfortable with the spotlight. And what Christina did; as a still fresh talent at 14; was allow Selena; who'd been in the business since she was 7, to have a unique sense of normalcy when they were together. That's probably why Selena didn't want her to become a tagalong, to be her own person so that fans wouldn't think that Christina became famous just because of their relationship. But remember; Selena was always a Grimmie fan when it truly mattered; even if it was largely through social media. I believe that trust and love between them is so precious to Selena, that's why she holds it's so close and doesn't allow the press or anyone to tarnish it. Two remarkable young women. 💞

I have never seen this video, and it is so beautiful. I remember the day Christina Grimmie was laid to rest in Berlin, New Jersey. It was my brothers graduation, and we watched the funeral procession, right as the graduation ceremony started. Everyone stood up both the students and those in the stands. Even more so, our JROTC color guard saluted. It was gut wrenching. We attended the same high school district, she went to Cherokee, and I went to Lenape. I met her one time, and she was the sweatest young woman I have ever met. She didn't let the fame change her. I think part of the reason why Selena Gomez no longer goes on tour, is because of Christina's death. What is sad, is recently I went to a concert at the Plaza Live in Orlando, as I live here now, and I had to walk out half-way, I physically couldn't be there. I ended up waiting outside until it was done. My friend approached the band, and explained that I personally knew Christina, who was murdered there, and they immediately refunded me the ticket.

In fact the most recent Concert For a Cause was held at Cherokee last September; the first live show since Covid hit us hard. My time with Team Grimmie since 2019 helps to solidify my resolve to keep her legacy alive; as Christina deserves to be known as more than simply the girl who died. The best of luck with finding your own peace. 💚

It is so incredibly fucking hard to lose a loved one. For her to perform the night after it happened, and for her to not completely lose it... That must've taken so much strength. RIP Christina ❤

All I can see is Christina Grimmie right next to Selena singing silently with her. Two beautiful souls, two beautiful hearts, two beautiful voices. We will always miss her.

Selena is one of the most talented, strong, and loving celebrities you could ever meet. She held back so many tears in that performance, you could even hear her voice trembling while she was singing several lyrics. Selena has over 50,000 haters but she doesn't care, she cares about her friends and family the most and she wouldn't change herself just because of jealous people. For all I know, she's my idol. I will never sing like her because she's one of a kind, but just like her, if I keep trying, I know I'll succeed. It hurts because unlike a rapper who gets shot, Christina's music was uniting and inspiring. It hurts Selena Gomez more than most because in the industry, not counting her family and boyfriend, Selena was closer to Christina than anyone else...and she was performing at the very moment Christina was shot and killed. Sometime down the line, I hope that Selena performs some of Christina's songs with her brother Marcus providing the music (the Gomez and Grimmie families are extremely close to each other).

god dooesnt exist

Ive known christina since before she got famous. I used to have severe depression and she was one of the few things that kept me alive. Literaly. Up to last week we used to chat at least 4 times a week and we skyped a least 2 times a month. She got me trough my depression and helped me get my life back on track. When i heard she was shot i instantly felt depressed again. Every day i wake up and feel like shit because i know i will never talk to her again. R.I.P. Christina, Gone but never forgotten.

She would want you, and everybody else whose life she touched, to be happy about her being able to live a happy, fulfilled life, though it was short. She was a beautiful woman, and I know that she is smiling down at you. Remember her as she was, not through this tragedy. Remember her smile, laugh, her jokes, every little thing about her. Most importantly, remember that she is in a place without pain and suffering, and that she is surrounded by love and peace. Try to smile for her, and when you are ready, reread the messages that you shared. Re-watch her videos. Think about her being in the happiest moment in her life, and keep her there, in your heart and memories. That is the best way to honour her, at least as far as I know.

this literally breaks my heart. she keeps her composure for the sake of the performance so well but you can tell she’s really breaking down. and her repeatedly apologizing to her fans because of it is so heartbreaking

IM LITERALLY CRYING!!! When she said 'I dedicate this to...' I started crying cuz we all know who she was talking about!! And also her crying triggered me to start crying!! This is so beautiful!!!

I am sitting in a public space watching this and my heart is hurting so bad trying not to just burst out and cry! How awful this situation must be for her, trying to do her best singing tribute to her friend when all she clearly wants to do is just cry hear eyes out. I can just feel her heartache.

I had an emotional breakdown when I heard the awful news. I was already going through one of the worst times in my life and Christina passing away just wrecked me emotionally. She was the first youtuber I ever watched when I got online. I still think of this sweet and amazing girl. She was a little light in the darkness for a lot of us. She'll always live in our hearts.
