I'm 32 now. When I was 13 and first moved to Penns Grove NJ, Entered as talent show at Penns Grove middle school while attending. I sang this song. I'm the baby of 8, I remember my whole family amongst other contestants Families were there. I got a standing ovation for this and won. My dad to this day still tells me how proud he was. My Mom passed 5 years ago and she would always bring this moment up. If I remember correctly, at the time... I learned the lyrics bc they were in the CD package. That is when music started making me feel amazing and I understood what it was. Wasn't just a song, it was life. I wasnt popular and had a Virginia accent. After that night, I made alot of friends then and are still friends today. My mom loved Selena and I believe that's why I sang this her music lives on.

I love Selena, and I'm a 36 year old white guy with the love of my life being a beautiful Hispanic woman, and we both giggled when it said (Spanish things) during her moment

R.I.P. to Selena, when I first heard this song from the film (how I learned of her) it of course almost brought me to tears...I hardly ever cry. But, now that I'm older, 24, this song just hits SO differently. No disrespect to Selena at all, but with all music or works of art, the listener can interpret different things. I feel like this song is meant for long distanced lovers, so I don't understand why the radio broadcaster (from the music video) keeps saying "I know the one you're dreaming about is right there with you" well....they're not. This song has so much passion about wanting and needing to be with the one you love; a love you have to wait for....or may never get to have. I pray and pray that my lover recovers from OCD and we can FINALLY hold each other close and never ever let go. If we get married, this will be one of the songs we dance to. We played this song at my Grandfather's funeral over the weekend, it was heart breaking and sad. May he rest in peace. Blessings to everyone who is mourning!

Haven’t heard this song in nearly 20 years. Heard it again today and it creates such nostalgia it’s almost unbearable. Never knew of the tragedy that unfolded for this tremendous voice.

I was the only African American female in the movie theater when her movie first came out believe me I got plenty of stares I didn't understand the songs that were not in English but this song got plenty of air time on BET back then I fell in love with the song when I heard what had happen to her I was so sad....then I heard that there was a movie coming out about her life... I had to be there!! continue to rest in heaven young lady

We still miss Selena queen of Tejano forever her voice is just so relaxing and calming! I'm dreaming of her she will forever be in our hearts!

Selena was not like any other celebrity. She was so humble and just like US! REMEMBER HER THAT WAY. That is why she is a legend in my mind! I will never forget what she brought to this world in her short life, but in that time she achieved more than most of us in a whole lifetime. She will forever be remembered for that and missed by all that know who she became. She certainly left her mark in my life!

I’m watchin that movie right now. That was one of my favorite songs of Selena. Man I had a friend when I was a kid I obsessed with Selena. As a black man she was my favorite Latina singer. Glad they jlo played her in the movie. That song gets me every time.

I lost my baby girl at birth two weeks ago.. I used to associate this song with my husband going on deployment but now I think of my baby girl in heaven because this song is about love and I love her although I never met her thank you Selena 😢❤️ my baby is in heaven with her

I had a still birth.. lost my son 3 weeks before he was suppose to be here and I use to play this song on my belly and he’d move around.. after I lost him I held him in the hospital and I played this song balling my eyes out! And I know Selena is in heaven singing it to him with god right beside them.. I love my almighty god and selena.. look over my baby and let him know, mommy loves him ! ❤️
