You can tell how much she enjoyed performing. Her voice and stage presence are simply immaculate. It absolutely breaks my heart that she was robbed of so much. Even with her short career she is one of the most influential and legendary artists of all time, so imagine if she was able to live up to her full potential. I hate the wretched woman who took all that away. I won’t even say her name. Selena was such a wonderful human ❤ rest in power, queen 🙌

it was truly her favourite place to be, on stage surrounded by family and friends, doing her alltime favourite songs that inspired her growing up. Such a sad comparison to what the next few months were like in their community and family. I always think about where she'd be now and all the connections she could have made, I see other iconic performers get their flowers in tribute ceremonies and wish she could have seen how loved she was. She really was a shooting star.

I still remember the day she got shot. Many didn't know who she was back then and I'm proud to say I was already a huge fan of hers. The Mexican music radio died for me on that day. I felt like know one would ever ever compare to her talent. Saddest day of all time in the music industry.

No backup dancers, no extravagant stage props, no pyros. Gosh she worked every inch of that stage in stiletto heels, dancing and keeping the audience on their feet. A TRUE singer/ performer. Today’s artist can take major notes #Legendary ♥️🌹

I was there. I got my tickets from work. I really didn’t know much about her before that night, but for anyone who’s been to the Houston Rodeo the musical performer is just the icing on the cake of a fun family experience. Selena was the cherry on top of the sundae of all awesomeness. I’ve seen a lot of great musicians in the last 45 years. This is the performance that’s etched in my memory banks. Her voice was so powerful & her stage presence was way beyond her years. Thank you for posting and allowing me this trip down memory lane.

There is no space for another artist on stage when Selena performs. No one was or would be up to par. Shakira would look like a back up dancer cuz Selena could teach the girl how to dance. More than likely, Selena would’ve been able to do Shakira’a hip dance better than her.

I was too young to understand Selena's death. I grew up in the north side of Fort Worth, a Mexican neighborhood near downtown. I knew something was wrong because everyone was crying. My dad picked me up from school and he told me in Spanish, they killed the queen. My dad cried for Selena as if he knew her, she was the Mexican American girl next door that achieved the American dream. Talented, beautiful, powerful but kind, she represented the hopes and dreams of millions of people. That night in Marine Park by the catholic church, thousands of people showed up with balloons, flowers, candles and signs professing their love for Selena and sorrow for the hole it left in our community. Even though she was a superstar, she was still accessible. Her loving compassionate nature and way she helped regular working class people escape through music, captivated many.

I’m from the Dominican Republic and my mom told me they went crazy the day she died. Goes to show she’s not only loved by Mexicans, she has the entire Latino community behind her. Love you Selena all the way from DR 💙💙

Lo que puede ser la ira, la venganza, la envidia de su asesina 😢 Aquel año que partió de este mundo yo tenía mis 20 abrirles e iniciaba mis estudios universitarios. En ese contexto aquí en ❤🇵🇪 no se sabía casi nada de ella, pero luego de su deceso un poco. Escuché sobre "una empleada doméstica la disparó por detrás cuando se duchaba" y me dije : cómo puede ser posible ? Acaso vivía sola con ella? Acaso no sabía a quién contrata? Pero ahora con todo lo que sucede de olas y olas de asesinatos esas tragedias son panes de cada día. Selene QPD 🙏

Thank God for technology. We are allowed to witness her greatness forever.

I came again after watching Selena: the series on Netflix, and every time I watch this is hard to believe she was real, even harder that she is physically gone forever, it's just sad honestly.
