Selecting Soundsets in the PlantWave App

Ойын-сауық

PlantWave lets plants sing. Tune into nature and listen to the music of plants! plantwave.com
Let's dive into soundsets! Soundsets are collections of instruments we've designed for plants to play.
PlantWave works by measuring slight variations in conductivity of a plant, graphing those variations as a wave and translating the wave into pitch. These pitch messages represent real-time biological changes happening in your plant.
By routing these messages to different soundsets, we can experience the activities of plants as music. This can help expand our awareness of plants as active participants in our lives. It can also help to provide lovely ambient music to fill our homes and offices.
Each soundset has its own unique characteristic of how it represents data from your plant. Each soundset has a different use case. Some are more relaxing. Some are more energizing. Some allow for a more "raw" expressive sound while others allow for a more consistent atmosphere of evolving ambient music.
Explore soundsets and find the instruments that are right for you (and your plants)
Happy listening!

What a great idea. How much control do owners of plant wave have over the output of sound. Could we plug it into a synth and have more control of the types of output we would get?

Love it I just got mine. It takes a bit of patience being that I’d expect instance results but that’s because I’m human. They tell me all I need to hear and know through time. Very very cool. Thank you guys

If the device itself is so expensive, why do people have to pay to use the apps full features?

This is so amazing! Did you measure if the plants work at 432hz or 440? Would be very interesting to me 🍀🌞🔋🙏

Can you only listen to the plant through the preset modes? My partner got me this plant wave for my birthday and it seems there's only a few free listening modes before you have to upgrade. Also when I attach the nodes to the plant, sometimes it starts playing sound before I've attached the device to the plant leaves and then continues when I've disconnected. Or doesn't play sound at all on the plant. It's a cool toy in theory but it would be great if there was a less 'massaged' version of the plant you could listen to besides the pre planned meditation music. I will have to keep trying to use it to find more value out of it, but an hour out of the box and it's a bit of a disappointment. I'll be happy to prove myself wrong with more investigation.

Hi Kathryn. Great questions, here. Sometimes if it’s very humid the sensors can pick up signal just before attaching to the plant. This can also happen if your finger is touching the sensor and the plant. In that case, the PlantWave is reading your connection to the plant. On plants where there is no sound happening, try cleaning the leaves. Most plants come coated with a protective gel that’s applied in the nursery. This can affect performance of the plant. Also, in the settings section of the PlantWave app, you’ll see that you can change the sensitivity settings. For less active plants, you may want to try a higher setting. Also, try your plant later and it might be more active. Plants are going through their own processes and it’s not necessarily their duty to perform on our command. In terms of the instrument settings, each one has a bit of a different use case. They’re not pre-recorded songs. They are instruments we’ve built for plants to play, so each plant will have different patterns. We recommend using Celestial Being when first connecting with your plants. This soundset has a wide note and tempo range, so you can clearly hear when a plant is more active or less active. When you hear chimes on that one, you’ll know there’s definitely a big shift happening in the plant.
