    So there is a vertical crack on the hoof. Basically he cleaned out the crack to make sure there was no infection below the surface, or an abscess which caused the crack. Because there was no abscess he did not use any special germicidal compounds. He then drilled an entrance on each side of the crack to support inlayed nails that then act as anchors for the wire to support tension to close the crack as the hoof grows out. Kind of like braces on teeth. The wire down the middle tightens the other wires because by hand it is hard to create the pull or tension he needs. The chiseling of the lower hoof edge is so that no pressure is on that section of the outer hoof wall enabling the hoof to heal without further concussion. Finally, to 1. keep the wires safe and the horse safe from the wires, and 2. to help the hoof wall heal, he used a hand made frame with the tape to insert the hoof repair compound which he inserted similar to a silicone gun. Once dry and hard he filed it smooth. Think of how a dentist fills your cavities :D Hope this explains everything.

    The principle is, he’s creating clearance to unload the heel, floating it to allow the crack to heal whilst bearing less load. Secondarily he is creating two hinges in healthy tissue that will give the damaged area a rest. The nails and wire are stabilising the crack giving it a chance to grow and repair unloaded in tensile, shear and also to some extent laterally and medially by reducing friction with the shoe.

    It's French to me. Great job holding the foot together but in truth if you have been the one trimming and shoeing this horse you actually caused the issue by over trimming the heels which pulled the corronary band from which the hoof wall horn tubules grow down and structurally are simily to the 2x4's lined up to frame a house. As long as the horn tubuels are in alignment and the correct length from to to heel, yes at about at 12-15 degree angle of the hairline from front to back and gradually getting shorter from toe to heel until the heels are about 2/3 the length of the toe. And again back to the horn tubuels all lined up | | | | |, the foot stays correct. (they are at an angle though but for the demonstation I can only use what is on this key board and I have to use the slash slanted fonts to represent the horn tubuels that are out of alignment.) And again the "hairline" which is above the coronary band that grows the horn tubules in a straighty line from front to back ________though at a slight angle. But NOTICE this foot the coronary band as seen by the hairline drops down about 1 1/2" in the back pullingthe bulb down and changing the angles of the horn tubules that are like the frame of the hoof capsule and must be in alignment \\\\\\\\\. Now you have a situation where the ones in the rear are growing into the ones in the middle or quarter and the quarter tubules will not move and so they crack. \\\\\\| | | | |. The true answer is to restore the heels and the level of the coronary band and realign the horn tubules. This will also correct the anatomy of the inner foot which is also being damaged by the reduction of th e heel buttress which is leading to the bulbs being pulled down and under which also bends the bars up into the back of the underside of the foot.

  • @bricelarie6527

    @bricelarie6527

    4 жыл бұрын

    @michael konstantinovich bordwell Well, point stand some could be thankful she just gather the technical information about ... By the way thoses kinds a cracks just don't "heal" as common folks imagine an heal ... If the hoof grows normally again, if it is well took in care, ... If oiling the hoof is properly done ... By times it will disappear with the normal process the growth a hoof ... Not saying you're wrong when you tell that hoof might need a new cut ... But you'll have to rectify the angle and "grind" bit more up front the hoof then into the heel ... So the horse have the proper tension all along nerves n muscle its legs ... Did y'all realise you could grind a hoof and just don't give "an how to relate sir ?" to "properly" sharpened "blades" ???? Feel pity for thoses ignorant ones not realizing how "Sciences" could be deadly "polite" and enlightened "way to proceed" ... That video show a pretty good patch or "trick" when you need the horse for an in times close event ... Re-cutting the hoof won't change "the need" fix ... And could be done soon after ... Maybe with the proper length, angle, even tools ... It don't change the needs if the horse gotta be ride ! Or up front cart ... Nice patch, but in the distance . Only a patch ! That's it .

    Par habitude : Goudron de Norvège au pinceau sur la sole, la fourchette nettoyée propre (curettée, brossée) ... Mixture huile de laurier, ultra-levure, idem sur la partie externe du sabot ... Du temps, . La nécessité d'un tel patch pour une utilisation intensive, nécessaire, (obligatoire conditionnée) de la monture reste délicate ... C'est toujours délicat, avec ou sans, d' ailleurs . Et, vu la pousse, quelque soit les raisons "d' état" (et, il y en a un paquets de soit disant opposables, dont la vitesse de nage d' un cheval lancé plein gaz, en haute mer 😉), l' angle d' appui de la ferrure suivante devra être "corrigée" . L' avant est un peu long pour une allure "standard" et fait travailler les tendons, peut-être au point si ce n' est d' aggraver l' inconfort de la monture, lui rendre a terme toutes les articulations "matraquées" ...
