Wow, I was looking at the Presage line but to have a solar mvt AND sapphire glass? I'm sold on this series instead!

Love that green dial- brown/tan leather strap look. Always a winning combination in my collection. No matter the manufacturer. Great video.

Mechanical watches are cool, however, practicality, accuracy affordability is in quartz !!!!

Mechanical watch is good if you keep wearing them.i have this mechanical diver watch with screw down crown. Each time I wear it, i need to delicately adjust the time and date etc. I guess if u enjoy doing that, then it is fun

Exactly that's why I still choose to buy quartz than any other, because I don't like to always setting time

Thank you for reviewing affordable watches. I love how Seiko used the gold markers/hands with the silver case. It does have an Alpinist look to it as someone else had pointed out. Subscribed.

They both look great! I had already noticed the green one, which is probably my favorite.

I've been wanting this watch for a few weeks (green dial)... saw it at Macy's for 50% off, ended up paying 135$ for black friday today. Winning!

which colour do you have?could you provide the model number?

I recently started to collect watches and that blue one is one of the first I got. And feel I want that green with leather strap as well! I understand these are exactly the same watches but just different dial colors and straps. I like Seiko.

Amazingly beautiful models for the price.

Seiko solar watches are wonderful. you get the advantages of quartz without monkeying around with batteries and worrying about taking the back off affecting the water resistance.

Very true!

This would be a good pick for my lonely quartz-solar to be use to check and adjust the time on my automatic collection. If I was picky, I would say that the thickness of 10mm doesn't seems to because of the flat case back plus the case design.

I have a Seiko SNE325, I Love it. All black on black, runs on the V157 caliber. It was made in October 2014, and considering its age, and that it didn't run for several months at a time, and the initial charge can take about 2-3 days in the sun, then in light inside your home at night, to get the full 10 month charge. I'm still working on getting more than a few days out of it, I just bought it from a friend. Beautiful watch though

Just ordered grey dial on bracelet, had the gold version and sadly returned, they really are a beautiful watch for the price, now and then Seiko get it spot on, although I'm Seikos biggest fan they do get it wrong plenty, misaligned chapters, bezels etc but when they get it right they are awesome watches , great great reviews as ever , love ur channel 👍

Like the green color on leather - it does look like an everyday watch. Another great feature is the 100M WR - means no worries on the weekends.

I wonder how different this watch is to the SBPX083 which I got about 1-2 years before that model was released. Either way, I absolutely love my watch.

Nice. I didn't know until recently that Seiko's solar power reserve was 10 months vs the 6 month power reserve claim by Citizen I've been hearing. I have considered getting a Seiko solar watch before but every time I compare it to an eco drive equivalent with low end models, Citizen seems to put a bit of extra effort where it makes a difference like better lume or lume where it is not absolutely necessary like on a dress watch. It's good to know that there are some budget watches where Seiko puts in better parts.

For some reason they (almost) always put a leather strap on the green dial watches. This combo looks great, but in my opinion it would look even more stunning with a steel bracelet indeed. The leather strap is more dressy and stylish and has perhaps more charisma. The bracelet is more about sportiness and coolness, so they serve for different purposes (thus for different people). I think that if bracelets would become a spec option also for green dial watches, the number of watches sold with bracelet would be at least equal to the ones with a strap. Seiko should realize this and act on it.

Hi Mark...what solid end links bracelet can we buy to match the Seiko SNE 529?

What kind of battery do they use? Sort of rechargable ones used in Seiko Kinetic?

Mark if you're going to talk about affordability and quality In solar watches how about checking out the wave ceptor Casio lineage. Excellent watch.

Question: How many watches does a person need? Answer: N + 1. I bet these would look great on a mesh bracelet.

Don't think I'd buy a 3-hand solar at this point (a solar chrono or solar small seconds, I might), but that green-dial variant is undeniably tasty looking and the price is certainly right.

Hi Mark. Would you know what the dial is made of? I'm guessing that being a solar watch the material would need to somehow act as a solar panel, so is not going to be metal. For the money they look rather good though.

I really want to pick de green because it's quite unsual and it reminds me one of my favorite seiko watch: the alpinist ...as the prices of the alpinist are skyroketing, i think iam going to take this one What do you think ? I also baught an SNKL41 instead of the SARB033, i know itsnt exactly the same but it's a way to reach closer a dream that i can't afford for the moment. That's why i love Seiko, they know how to satisfiy evry watch enthousiast

How's the power reserve? Does the design look and feel good to wear?

David Johansson The power reserve is a very impressive 10 months and I never have to worry about my watch running out of power if I wear it regularly. I like the design, it is kind of simplistic and beautiful. A potential drawback is that the watch is quite thick though, but personally this doesn’t bother me that much.

I prefer automatic, but if I got one of those as a gift, i'd be perfectly happy.

Is a metal bracelet adjustable? One other thing, how loud is the ticking on these kinds of watches?

Sapphire glass the best I bought one

I have a black dial and on leather strap it's very dressy. I'ts a really elegant watch. Bracelet is good quality. The only thing I would improve is a crystal - it lacks AR coating and it reflects a lot so, especially black dial, works like a mirror. Marc do You offer any AR coated glass that fits these watches?

Nice looking watches with great specs but for me these fall short by not having lume. With lume they would be the ultimate everyday watches but as such they fall short. Such a shame.

Nice looking pieces 👌 If they were Kinetic movement, I'd be all over the green dial in a heartbeat. Seiko hasn't convinced me they have mastered Solar movements like Citizen. Of the 5 Seiko Solar movements I've owned, only one has not been had any issues. Of all the Seiko's I've purchased over the last 30+ years; I was never let down until buying the SNE435 last year. After 6 months I had to replace the Solar cell. Other function issues but, not going to get in to them. Only worn 3 times and haven't been able to sell it for a 1/4 of what I paid for it. Another problem child I bought; SNE423 - I like the case so much that I bought a Seiko quartz movement to replace the Solar movement. Maybe, I just had bad luck.

you can go SNKL41 43 45, its around 36mm diameter and 40mm lug to lug (around 90~110$), automatic movement but as usual seiko, hardlex crystal and crappy barclet

10 is low side, 20 high. Don't leave them in a dark drawer for a year. That discharges the battery which shortens the life

For some reason the solar has a burned in sec, min, hr hand on the green face. Idk why

I like your own line of wathes but I feel the logo needs to go and wording Island or something should be written in place of the Island logo

I strongly disagree, a logo is quintessential for brand recognition. Perhaps the logo along with “Island” written would be best? Kind of like Rolex does it?
