I’d take the “caller” gmt anyday. I can imagine only a few scenarios where the “traveler” GMT would me better. Most of the time I’m in one time zone, but need to randomly check time for other time zones of my interest. And if I’m out of my time zone, it’s usually for a day or two max, and I find no issue in checking the time using the GmT hand. I find no quick date set a big issue, when I pick up a watch that doesn’t have it it can take A LOT of time setting the date.

Standard MO of waiting 6 months before getting these means the price will go down... Unless they're not going to discount this much because it's a new movement. But yeah, I think that orange is a must have. They executed it well. And I'm not one to complain about the water resistance. GMT watches (especially with a rotating bezel), unlike dual and world time watches, are supposed to be set to GMT. Home time is the normal hand stack and local time is the bezel. Unless you move to a new home or actually need to track a third timezone, you shouldn’t notice the difference between "caller" and "traveller's" GMT because once the GMT and home times are set up, you aren't supposed to change them.

Why would they when it works? Seriously, this community has been obsessed with "specs". I have an original Seiko monster from 2004 that I wore daily for 8 straight years and nothing happened to it. I never scratched the crystal and the clasp never failed me. I still have that watch, and the clasp still hasn't failed me. Many people have decades old Seikos where are the clasp is perfectly fine. Hell, Rolex didn't move to a milled clasp until 2003 or something. I don't like them, personally. They're too bulky under the wrist and they pinch. I would rather take the slimmer profile of a stamped clasp any day. I've been in this hobby too long and handled too many watches to care too much about whether a watch is "specc'ed out". If something works, it works. You don't need to change it because people on the internet say you should.

@@elarson312 I would agree that sapphire is definitely needed at the $500 price point and Seiko drags their feet on that (most likely due to a lot of money invested in hardlex and a lot of hardlex sitting around needing to be used), but I just simply don't like milled clasps (my opinion). And I don't think they necessarily improve watches. I have handled so many watches that are decades old and the clasps are not milled and they still work perfectly fine. Watches from the '60s, '70s, '80s, etc. I don't think milled clasps are an "upgrade" that much, beyond the feeling of extra solidity. @@greglewis20 Well I've never had a problem, and as I said in my comment above in the thread, my brother was just in Hawaii with his 10 bar watch, and he swam with sharks and was at the beach in the water constantly. I asked him, and he said it's fine. Nothing happened. You don't need 200 m of water resistance on everything. And if you're going to be swimming, or in the shower and need to wear your watch, just take one of your divers. I'm sure you have several. 100m isn't a reason not to buy this watch, or any watch.

I know, the Rolex GMT-Master II is such a garbage watch, only 10 bar water resistance.
I can't stand date magnifiers...
That doesn't look like solid endlinks to me.
