@Clifton Spence Everyone likes to talk about the reasons why but what it felt like at the time is what I personally believe it was. Sony was killing it. I was a Nintendo fan, maybe even fanboi lol, at the time but it was just the truth. My first 2 systems ever aside from Atari 2600 was the Master System and then the Genisis so I adopted Nintendo later in like 94.... They put a real hurt on Sega and Nintendo. Nintendo had the loyal fan base, capital and long history to stay afloat through it. Sega was always the underdog. It wasn't so much about mistakes, though there were some all around, but more about Sony's unbelievable and unexpected disruption that was felt for many years even into the Xbox days.

By the time it was 2003 pretty much every high school kid had a phone and was busy texting all the time. Not to mention there was already social media in early 2000's Myspace was popular and also others like Bebo saw it's time in the spotlight. But nah, I think you're just one of those people that didn't even live in the 90's/early 2000's and just like to say "it was better back then" Lol I used dial up internet when I was a kid. It was definitely NOT better. And social media helps distribute way more information. These days I can find all sorts of info and guides on the internet for anything. There's literally a tutorial on KZread for pretty much anything. I can download videos faster than I can watch them. On dial up I had to wait several hours to download a 1 minute clip and couldn't use the phone at the same time with the parents nagging about how we can't just unplug the family phone. Such awesome times. LMAO
