I have a walk I do with my hickory staff when I need to clear my head. It is typically done in a circle. I'll attest to trancing out while I'm doing it but until now I didn't realize it was considered a technique that other practitioners may use. Thank you for sharing.

That's very cool! I love that these techniques just sort of present themselves to us when we go with our instincts.

It's also a stimming (or self stimulating) action that's common among folks with autism and ADHD. I suspect that we see it in these places because it calms the nervous system -- which is part of what we're doing when we trying to enter trance.

@@bladeandbroom thank you. That majes sense. I dud not know that. I always suspected we and thpse with Autism and ADHD are picking up things. I have a theiry that some of our "problems" are dur to ungroundedness, or strong empathetuc abilities, even. That fact becomes even more interesting, not to say that's true for all. As you said everyobe has a differeent method.

I've apparent been seething during various witchcraft workings (the rocking method) for years without realizing it was something other people did. Thank you for this.

I'm very unfamiliar with anything to do with Völva, or Norse work, but what an interesting idea to be able to play the stang with the arrow like that!! super excited for a video on dressing the stang!! Could I possibly ask for some practical advice - I.e. how do you get the arrows to stay put if they are nailed in the middle? Do they just have to stay there, or do you have to risk breaking the stang by hammering them in, and taking them off over and over?

That's an excellent question! Robert Cochrane mentioned using bluebell glue, which I've never tried to make or use. The covens I've worked with usually use leather thongs to strap stuff in place. Easy to secure. Easy to remove. Reusable. For heavy things (like a ram or goat skull), there usually a wire hanger involved, as well.
