He was so beloved to Allah that Allah made recitation of a wahi a direct source of bringing Umar R.A. to the deen. I just can't decide who I love more among the 4 Caliphs. Each are just SO AMAZING *_* SubhanAllah...may Allah be pleased with them and unite us in Jannah so we get to see them all...

Episode 18 Notes: After the Second Migration to Abyssinia, the Muslims were very few in Makkah and a short while after the migration. Allah SWT blessed Islam with two new reverts. Both of which likely occurred in the 6th year of the Dawah. The Conversation of Hamza ibn Abdul Muttalib RA One day, Hamza was hunting and he came back to Makkah, only to hear from the women of his tribe that, Abu Jahal had horribly cursed the Prophet SAW, like he never had before. This made Hamza very angry and he went up to Abu Jahal and hit him causing Abu Jahal to bleed. At the same time hamza, for no reason other than pride or tribalism, told Abu Jahal that he too had accepted Islam. This put Hamza in a dilemma since, he would be mocked if people found out he lied about being a Muslim. So he did a dua to Allah SWT asking Allah SWT to guide him if this is the truth. The next day, he went to see Muhammad SAW and after receiving dawah he accepted Islam. Hamza was the senior most person to convert to Islam up until this point and as a result, the Quraysh had to tone down their irritation of the Muslims. A few days after Hamza’s conversion, Allah SWT followed it up with another big boost. Umar Ibn Al Khattab RA Before Umar’s conversion, the Prophet SAW made a dua to Allah SWT, asking for Allah SWT to bring either Abu Jahal or Umar Ibn Al Khattab to Islam. Another key event before Umar’s conversion, was the night he heard the Prophet SAW recite Surah Al Haqqah which, answered all of his doubts and left him in amazement at the Quran. That was the first time Islam entered his heart. Umar RA accepted Islam a short while after this event and his conversion was done by the Prophet SAW himself. After Umar RA became a Muslim, the Quraysh really felt threatened and it led to the Muslims having some power in Makkah. Immediately after Umar RA’s conversion, the Muslims were put into two lines and marched to the Kabah where they prayed publicly for the first time and Quraysh couldn’t do a thing. Umar RA after becoming Muslim, himself went and told Abu Jahal of his Islam and Abu Jahal slammed the door in his face. Umar RA also, went and told Makkah’s tatter tail about his conversion, who spread the news far and wide. Marriage to Umme Habiba RA Her husband passed away after he left Islam and became a Christian. His wife at the time was Umme Habiba, who was the daughter of Abu Sufyan and she became a widow, with no one to look after her in Abyssinia. Thus, the Prophet SAW sent her a proposal and the Najashi took charge during this proposal, by gifting Umme Habiba the Mahr on behalf of the Prophet SAW. This then led Umme Habiba, to return to Medina as one of the mothers of the believers. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW that in history “Angels would communicate with some people who were not prophets” and that Umar RA is the only one in his Ummah, who would ever qualify for such an honour. ========================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. September 2020 I appreciate this series so much It is unfortunate that we live in a time when Muslims are so emotionally and morally fickle Many persons up till now have attacked many of the scholars I've listened to online People need to realize our scholars are not sahaba, they are human beings and they can make mistakes And likely most Muslims making the accusations themselves have commited quiet a bit of sins Calm down and give them a break and leave room for passing judgement with Allah

The Sahaba made "mistakes". These "scholars" like YQ have crossed the limit. For example, they support people who are severely pro LGBTQ. This is not a "mistake"; this is challenging Allah's commands and authority. May Allah guide these "scholars" or give them what they deserve

@@wakemeup38 AsSalamalaikum, I'm not really in a position to call YQ a kafir or munafiq. I admit there are areas where he gets controversial or contradictory. But frankly, I also don't hero worship any of our modern day scholars and fully recognize we all are mediocre when compared to the best generation that came before us. Not only in YQ case, but Noman Ali Khan, Mufti Menk, and all others on KZread. I deliberately listen to Daniel Haqiqi and such to get a different stance than these scholars. I'm sorry to hear you seem certain about your stance against him. But for all we know he may still have good intentions or he could be getting tested by Allah. You and I both know this Deen is Haqq and the Nabi (pbuh) was an honest person. I believe this seerah was the single greatest work of YQ and is the most common resource I return to. I rarely go to any of his other materials and am aware of his Quran narrative controversy. But even then wouldn't position myself to consider him a kafir, someone rebelling against the commands of Allah. YQ being confused is safer and we can hope he'll amend his errors.

As much as I will listen to or read scholars of all sorts, I do not believe any should have to wait whether or not to obey Allah and his messenger. Since Hamza is the accidental conversion not intending to enter Islam by words, who has a I intended to accept Islam, but accidentally didn't. Never condemn something without actually knowing what you are actually condemning. I never intended to accept Islam, but the Quran opened me up bit by bit. If Quran pages were hid from a disbelieving `Umar, how can we justify those people who bring Quran and religious sayings in open view on the battlefield? People either forget or deny the details of the persecution like the trade boycott when they speak of the Muslims being raiding bands of criminals starting things.

Sunny Jamil It’s mentioned in the Seera written by Alhafiz Ibn Kathir. My question to Yasir Qadhi is that RasoolAllah read sorah Najm in 4 th year of nabowah and first part of it all mentions about Isra wal Mairaj. Doesn’t that mean that that it already happened before?

The Quran is not compiled according to the chronology of revelations

It’s extremely annoying to hear the shaykh keep drinking right in the mic with all his throat noise so clearly being recorded lol. Nevertheless, May Allah reward him.

Yes, but Yasir said that Umar (RA) did Wudhu or Ghusul before touching it

It’s interesting how it seems like basically all of the Quraysh and clearly Abu Talib actually believed the prophet saw to be a true prophet (otherwise why would Abu talib stake the whole dissolving of the boycott deal on prophet saw being correct about the mites) and yet the didn’t accept Islam… truly Allah guides only whom He wills

Yes The prophet stayed in makkah while the Muslims immigrated to abyssinia as after the 1st & 2nd immigration to abyssinia the boycott took place and also when Prophet Mohammad pbuh immigrated to Madina then the second immigrants to abyssinia were still in abyssinia.

You mentioned and emphasized in previous lectures that the number of people in Mecca were not that much... They were less than 1000 people and when the Muslims migrated from mecca to Abyssinian they were less meccans now.. so how is it that in the battle of badr more than 300 Muslims fought against an army of 1000? wouldn't it be way less than 1000?

You have to understand that the Muslims joined hands with the Ansar in Medina, of course their population was going to increase.

Mr. Yasir Qadhi, you sound like a knowledgeable person, but don't forget to say (Radiallah u Anha) when you say the name of companions of the great Prophet Muhammad MPBUH.

please whenever you say (ﷺ) please take your time and say it properly because with speed you say s😮allum sallum or even some time just sse sse ss sss an awful sound, i dont know about your audians or other people i got irritated you have already many irritated habits like dancing you hands very fast constantly touching your nose and drink water with annoying sound, if you were not having this wonder ful seerah speaches i would'nt have watched you, for a minute.and please dont say basically so many times unnecessarly. please forgive me for saying that.

This is over 10 years old, do you think he is going to delete the series just for you. If you don't like the uatadh then go find another seerah series. Such a negative hateful comment

The most annoying thing out this whole beautiful Seerah is the way he drinks his water ughhh you can hear the sound of water going down His throat so annoying he could have just stepped a bit farther from the mic and do that simple mannerism ughhh so annoying

Haha yeah it can be annoying. But hey, he has a 100+ part Seerah with each lecture more than an hour long prepared and offered for free so we can cut him some slack. I'm just glad such a tremendous resource exists for everyone

I think this is hard for him because hi is keeping lectures for hours and of course he has to drink, by the way all the time i listen to Dr Qadhi this series I use to drink water to 😂
