Seeing Your True Self with the True Mirror

The True Mirror is not a reflection, but it is how you really are, and allows you to see your TRUE SELF.
What do you see when you look in the true mirror? Is it a positive or negative reflection of your true self?
Looking into the True Mirror flips the image you are so used to seeing of yourself, and allows you to see your TRUE reflection.
You can use the true mirror to improve your self confidence, be more honest with yourself, improve your self image, and practice more self love.

    If you feel bad about how your “true self” looks, just stand in front of a mirror with another person and look at them. They look the same right? No better or worse, just flipped. So really we don’t look dramatically different to other people, we’re just not used to seeing ourselves like that so the flaws are amplified

    @bruce marshall Our brains are so use to seeing how we look like in the mirror, that when we see ourselves for what we actually look like, the subtle differences seem amplified.

    Guys don't worry you look exactly the way you look in the mirror do one thing draw something on one side of your face take a selfie and you'll see the picture will flip because that's exactly how you look in the mirror hold the picture next to your face and go in front of the mirror and you'll see its the same. So you look like your picture and your mirror the picture only flips because when someone else holds the phone they hold it the other way around. I hope I can explain this properly😅😅 just take a picture of your mum go behind her and hold the phone in front and then go in font of her and see that's how she looks. The picture needs to flip so other people can see you the way you look in the mirror.

    The 8th Hokage (nice name btw) face a mirror that is decently big. And get another mirror that you can easily move around. Face the smaller mirror at an angle to the bigger mirror. Sorry it's hard to explain without pictures but just try out different angles. Look straight at the big mirror while holding the smaller mirror at an angle while looking at the smaller mirror. It will show what you really look like. But the only flaw is that this method doesn't show what you would look like if you looked straight ahead. Instead you can see your face but your eyes will not be looking directly straight ( because your eyes are looking at the smaller mirror)

    When I see myself in the mirror, I usually see a pretty girl. (There's really no way I can say that without sounding selfish, so sorry about that) but I do like my own look. However... although I've always known that the mirror reflection is not quite true, I've never given it a second thought. But recently it has really gotten into my head. I've always disliked how I looked on pictures, and was wondering why I looked NOTHING like my reflection in the mirror. Always thought, jeez! Thank God I don't look like that in real life. Well. Jokes on me. Apparently that is exactly how I look in real life. Found out when I put two mirrors together. Started crying. Been an ugly piece of shit my entire life without knowing, and will live the rest of my life like that. Thanks mirror. Thanks! 👍🏼

    Hi Barbara, You know I had a similar reaction to looking in the true mirror. It was really hard and I felt a lot less attractive. What I later learned after interviewing Chris, is that the subtle differences witnessed in the True Mirror are actually doubled and seem twice as intense. It can be jarring because the subtle differences in our face aren't as noticeable to us because we've been looking at the same image of ourselves all these years and your eyes see a certain thing. When you see yourself in the true mirror, it resets everything from scratch, and actually amplify's the differences in each side of our face more so because we're used to looking at the opposite. But, its not really what other people see because they're not focusing in on our imbalances. We do notice the drastic difference only because we've been looking at one image of ourselves our entire lives. I can't really explain it that well, but I hope it helps!

    CIRCUS PICNIC STUDIOS yes it does help! 😊 I got my friend to stand beside me in a normal mirror and asked her to take a good look at me in the mirror. She didn't quite know what I was up to and asked " why and what should I look at?" I asked her if She could see how different I looked in the mirror compared to how she sees me. After a while, while she had studied my face in the mirror, she said "I don't see much difference, but you look more symmetrical in real life". It was a huge relief for me. So maybe it isn't as bad as I thought. 😊

    It's important to note that it isn't really how other people see you, though it "technically" is. Over time you grow accustomed to your face as you know it in the mirror and have strong neural pathways connecting yourself and your likeness. Looking at yourself in the true mirror causes you to look at an inverted "normal" image of yourself through the lens of how you were looking at yourself before. In other words the image is distorted by how your brain is used to looking at yourself and it gets confused. Other people don't have this preconceived lens of you so to them your mirrored self looks virtually the same as your true self.

  • @johnwalter8139

    @johnwalter8139

    5 жыл бұрын

    And the sad part is that neural pathway essentially is a static one - so not what is real and how you are seen by others. We are dynamic, expressive human beings, with many expressions that convey who and what and how we are...almost all of them get distorted into something different from real when you flip them. Sure, they sort of look right, but they don't carry the message correctly, and so our response is not correct (i.e. similar to how our friends and family respond to us), which then goes out and gets flipped again, and so forth. Its a feedback loop with information distortion: it's really sad, because who we are as people gets lost to us. We then become familiar with a doppelganger version of us, and then wonder why we feel so different and have issues of self-esteem and self-worth...its a version that has been with us since childhood - ubiquitous, unchallenged and solitary - you are literally the only one that communicates this way with yourself. the True Mirror takes some time to get used to , but once you recognize the person looking back as you, its someone you can really connect with, in real time, over time...learning ab out and understanding what is true about you. As a person, not just as a physical body and face. That's the promise and why the True Mirror is being made.

    🙏. After finally learning to love myself in a regular backwards mirror, I had to start all over in a true mirror. And it was easier because it is 3Dimensional and so my image has more depth of presence and my smile has more depth of response and meaning. This is who I want to relate to when looking in a mirror. I love my True Mirror. I love me! Thank you!

  • @johnwalter8139

    @johnwalter8139

    Which is the point of this experience - we are so much more in real life than what the backwards mirror can ever show. The person you are, the person the world knows and loves, looks and acts with real presence and real meaning. When that gets lost in a mirror, it becomes so much harder to like and love yourself. This is the cosmic joke that has been given to all of us, that we can only relate to ourselves with this kind of distortion, and it's been that way since childhood, completely unquestioned. No wonder we have this kind of trouble with our self, completely at odds to the way others think about us since they see the real version and understand us with all of our expressions, personality and qualities.

    You can actually make eye contact with yourself. If you practice eye gazing with someone else, it's a good way to practice vulnerability and a lot of emotions come up. The same thing happens to yourself when you look in the true mirror. Often other times, in very basic terms, people don't like what they see and it's hard to move through that.

    Our true selves are seen through the eyes which are also camera lenses that catch what we perceive as our reality. Most humans have in mind what or WHO they wish they looked like and each time they look into a standard mirror they are let down (at best) or even HATE themselves because their appearance does not fit what they "see" themselves as. This is quite common especially with those who are aging. If they see themselves AS themselves, they normally borrow a time in life that they liked the most, say as a teenager or a 20something person when they were young or even fit. Forever until they are released from this idea of what and who they are NOW they will be chasing that former self and feeling disconnected from who they see in the mirror now. They will even hate what they see. In the most physically beautiful people I have seen the most evil soul through their eyes and in the most wrinkled, asymmetrical faces I have seen the light of a lifetime of beautiful memories and self acceptance. What would others see if they looked at me? What would others say if they looked into your eyes and face?

  • @johnwalter8139

    @johnwalter8139

    this is one of the most horrible things about mirrors, is that yes, we are let down by what we see in them. But not because of our beliefs or aging or any of that, but because the image coming back from a mirror is simply wrong, a distortion of reality, a created being that has none of the naturalness of our expressions that convey feelings and thoughts. Our beautiful spirits are lost in a mirror, and we are left trying to see beauty in just our expressionless faces...super difficult. In the True Mirror, that spirit energy not only doesn't disappear but can actually grow and bloom (this comment even stated that- www.truemirror.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/OMG-I-am-beautiful.jpg) . That "ugly" person with beautiful eyes will cry to see how beautiful they really are, and yes, conversely, that evil, mean person in a beautiful body will see that too... The True Mirror really is an incredible truth teller, and seriously, under all of us, including that mean person, there still is a beautiful soul that just needs to be expressed to be real. Its only the mirror, and our faulty interaction with ourselves in it, that causes the spirit to be buried under a mask of fakeness such that it can't be seen anymore. No wonder we dont believe in ourselves as we should!

But we aren’t ugly or distorted at all! We’re all beautiful in our own way and we shouldn’t feel ugly. Some of my friends used to say how ugly they were but I was always blown away by how beautiful they were! From the True Mirror website: "How does the True Mirror work?" "A True Mirror is made from putting two mirrors at a right angle, such that the two mirror images bounce off of each other. This mirror arrangement isn't a new concept (actually, it was first patented in rather crude fashion in 1887). Try this in your home - just hold two mirrors up to each other at right angles, and you can see the effect. Of course, you'll have to ignore the large line that runs down the middle of your face, which is probably why you never paid much attention to this mirror arrangement before. That bothersome line down the middle is what makes a True Mirror so special. Within its stylish cabinet resides two crystal-clear, "front surface" mirrors joined perfectly at 90 degrees using special materials and bonding techniques that eliminate that line optically. The image you see of yourself is both actual size and in focus. The seam is invisible in the center, so you can look eye-to-eye to yourself just as in "real life." The effect can be very powerful." We have too many people walking around looking like the same frozen clown because of plastic surgery. What if we all embraced our natural selves and let the aging process happen as is. To those who worry after seeing their flipped versions..don't fret pls..sure it's remarkable to know that this is how we look like but the fact is asymmetries exist in both the versions,the mind always tries to find symmetry in everything that it perceives,thats why we see ourselves without a fault in the mirror&others also do the same through their eyes so what you see is actually just another version of what everyone sees&well truthfully that physical image is gonna wither with time so the most important process of life isn't about perfecting that outer shell but making your inner light glow brighter&then no matter what you wear or how you look..you will be beautiful.

    Actually although I think my reflection looks better than my true face because I used to it and love it. But still wanna try seeing my true face everyday to get used to it and love it even more I've seen my true face and I still like looking at it but it kinda hard holding two mirrors together every time I wish if the true mirrors are available in shops like regular ones

    I have a mirror that has a cabinet inside it. So when it opens, I have a Truth Mirror. I’ve gotten super used to myself (I’ve also downloaded a truth mirror app) and I really love how I look to others! It’s not different at all, only a little bit. But in the beginning I was horrified and scared. It takes a little while to get used to.

    I really wonder how I'd feel about trying this out, because in general when I look into mirrors I don't recognize myself or feel connected to the person in the mirror, I quite litterally feel uncomfortable because it doesn't feel like me and this is due to having DPDR. I think it might actually be therapeutic to try a 2way mirror

    I'm surprised people are so shocked by this. Has no one been in a bathroom with a medicine cabinet mirror that's perpendicular to the sink mirror? You get the same effect. I first saw my "true reflection" when I was a little kid. I thought everyone had already done this. I don't think I look much different either.

    So my question after watching this video is, why are we using reversed mirror in the first place? Is it because it's easy to manufacture because it's only one mirror versus the true mirror which is composed of two? Or is it that we just really hated how we looked in a true mirror?

  • @smitshah387

    You know what I like my imperfect me, I know that I am not perfect, but atleast the people who like us don't judge us on that, they like the imperfect us, Our imperfect laugh that makes them laugh inturn, Our imperfect eyes staring them which makes them fall in love all over again, What makes us beautiful is that we are imperfect. Cheers to being imperfect

  • @bryonpav

    Because we see a mirror image of ourselves we tend to prefer the mirror image of ourselves. Other people more often see our true image, so they will prefer that. We prefer what we see as normal. Neither image is inherently better or worse (proof by symmetry)

    You are seeing "You" every time you look in the mirror... but YOU are seeing the reversed image of what everyone else sees. When using the TRUE MIRROR... you are now seeing you... with everyone else's eyes.

  • @johnwalter8139

    it is different because the "real" self isn't a static snapshot. Who you are is a flow of being-ness, with multiple expressions that convey what the real self is. Think of a video - its about 30 frames every second. A genuine smile has a beginning middle and end that lasts for more than a few seconds...literally hundreds of frames...being able to capture that in a picture is pretty rare. That's why a photo shoot of a model has more than 400 pictures to pick the perfect one for the cover. For us normal folk, we only get a few shots, and often, as soon as the camera comes out, we put on our camera face...usually a forced, static smile.

    Always see room for improvement... "What is the dust which obscures the mirror? It is attachment to the world, avarice, envy, love of luxury and comfort, haughtiness and self-desire; this is the dust which prevents reflection of the rays of the Sun of Reality in the mirror." ~ Abdu'l-Baha, Baha'i Faith
