Fantastic buy on the tractor. I always wanted to drive one of those. I have to confess I started watching women's basketball to because of Caitlin Clark.
I love the cab confessions 😂 I was just watching a video on YT about Caitlin Clark. Ticket sales, viewership and attendance have jumped up some crazy % like 400%

Looks like you got a pretty nice unit there, Ross! $2,100 for that mighty horse is a hell of a deal in my book. I saw a 1650 gas on Facebook marketplace for $6,000. By the way, my dad has a JD 700A (industrial 5020) and JD 4620, both with 1000 RPM PTO (the 700A has a 5020 rear end) and he can use them with 540 RPM implements with the tractor idling. He likes it because it uses very little fuel. I’m not sure if the RPM range is the same on the Olivers/Whites as it is on “that other green” where you could do that but yeah. Something that might interest you since this 4-150 is 1000 RPM PTO only. Thanks for the great video and congrats on 10,000 subscribers! I commented on your Facebook page to congratulate you but yeah. Also I commented today that I saw a 1/16 scale 9650 at a tractor show I went to yesterday and it immediately made me think of you! Have a great day, Ross!
@rosstheoliverman

Thank you!!! Yeah in some situations it’s a real advantage that you could run an implement at half speed on the tractor.

My father had a 4-150 when I was a kid. When the dairy cows left, it was sold shortly after. Some day I will own one and add it to my collection.

Cool! They’re definitely out there and usually very reasonably priced. The trick is finding one close enough so you don’t spend a fortune in trucking.
I would of done the same thing. I get sad when guys scrap out old tractors. Although i am an allis chalmers collector i wouldnt of let that go either Ross. Good job saving her.

I thought the very same thing.
I've always assumed that the articulation locks on equipment was just put there for us truck drivers when we haul it because the dot says you need to either lock it or throw a chain over it and who wants to chain an articulation joint. I use that glass cleaner all the time on my trucks wood grain dash and it is just fine 😂😂😂

Good luck with the 4-150, 4-180 and all the other projects and good luck for getting to the next ten thousand, hopefully sooner than the first. Have a wonderful day!

That looks like a hell of a tractor for the price --- particularly when you consider what the asking price was long before the auction. That tractor must have over $1,000 worth of hydraulic and fuel hoses & fittings. I can't understand why that would have the kind of PTO it has -- were there other options?
@rosstheoliverman
21 күн бұрын
I think they thought higher HP tractors would only be running large implements. I know for example the 7080 Allis Chalmers was 1000 pto only so other manufacturers had the same line of thinking.
One of the biggest failures of White Farm Equipment was to choose GM Argent Silver. That paint failed on GM vehicles and when your new tractor that costs much more than a Stove Bolt car fails and makes your tractor look bad it puts a big bad mark on resale values. Yes, the 4-180 was a much-improved tractor with the planetary drives and other heavier stuff. That link was definitely the articulation lock. We always installed it when we had one of those tractors on the implement trailer. Get some Armor-All and clean the outside. When dealers have used cars for sale they use Armor-All or a comparable product and make the car shine inside and out.
@rosstheoliverman
21 күн бұрын
Cool! Yes that armor all is great stuff. You could probably polish a turd with it 🤣
Firestones too. Those could be original. I know of some from 1978 with around 10000 hours still being used. Not much tread left though.

Man, what a buy that was. Glad you were able to get it and save it from being parted out. I'm excited to see you get it serviced up and made more better. I thought that was a really beautifully styled tractor. Now you have me wanting to buy one.

Ross, I had to replace the rear drive shaft on my Ford Ranger 4x4 . It was a special type aluminum that could take torque. It was also the odd one out of 4 they made for that truck body. Had to get it from Ford Factory warehouse and the Ford dealer charged me 850 dollars. It was being cut through by a cobbled up exhaust that the previous owner had done to it. I checked and no you could not weld it because they said it would make the repair spot brittle and it would snap off there.
@rosstheoliverman
21 күн бұрын
Wow, aluminum definitely would add more difficulty to repair. It’s amazing that it can hold up at all but I’ve seen several trucks that have it.

Optical illusion looking different sizes with the same size tires? I have two tractors with 16.9-38's and the bigger tractor makes the tires look smaller or the smaller tractor looks like the tires hide more of the tractor.
