See video of dislodged ship floating on Suez Canal
The ship blocking the Suez Canal has been fully dislodged, a Suez Canal Authority spokesperson told CNN. The Ever Given, a 224,000-ton vessel almost as long as the Empire State Building is tall, ran aground in the Egyptian canal on March 23. Crews from Egypt and around the world have been working nonstop to try to refloat the ship, with the operation involving 10 tug boats, sand dredges and salvage companies.

Not a problem. We found learned a valuable lesson. Mother nature takes care of the problem. Full moon and high tides. Along with mans ingenuity when creating tug boats. Now mother nature can be cruel at times. But that's a different story.
You might want to find and talk to Peter Berdowski, CEO of Dutch salvage company Boskalis. Pretty sure he can talk to you about what it took. In dutch press he said that it wasn't the most difficult job they ever did. “It was our biggest job ever in terms of publicity, but it was certainly not the most technically complicated. It happens more often that we have to salvage ships of this size, ”said the Boskalis CEO.

And by the way that "one" Dutch boat was actually hired by the Japanese company which owns the ship, maybe it a try to save their faces from what they caused to the whole world. But thanks to any nation that offered help, though we did it on our own, thank god! AND AGAIN if didn't understand, because it seems like you don't! Don’t worry, this will happen again. Not the first time the canal has been blocked, won’t be the last knowing Egypt
Looks like she's listing slightly to port. The ship is at an angle too.
And, with strong winds moving the wall to the opposite shore it could affect what size ship with a high profile can get thru the canal without a repeat of this event.
Great reporting and insight! Love hard news

@Earth Worm Dirt Nobody reports on "all news", there's not enough hours in a day. And all news services lie/spin/ make mistakes. It's on us the viewers to use logic, reason, and skepticism to determine what's reality and what's not. All that matters is the actual information disseminated, not who's publicizing it.
Well done! Congratulations to all involved! Now make sure we learn from this and the necessary mitigations are put in place!

@King Dingdong I thought more about aspects of seamanship like having a tugboat on standby on the lee side when big freighters pass the canal etc. However, you are making a good point and I agree with you.
When will this ship passes that very spot again? Imagine how it feels to be there again as a captain.
Ever Given: Freed The captain: Im about to do whats called a pro gamer move again *tokyo drift*

This ship is more than 4 times bigger than the Battleship Missouri, just to give you an idea of the scale of this thing.
please explain if 7days of hold up is the maximum then how would it take months as said to clear up ??????, once it is clear then the only time lost is the time it did not move
Great...I guess all my wife's Amazon orders are on the way now... Back to the door bell ringing all day 🤦🏾♂️ (being facetious)

Dutch company: it could take weeks to refloat the Ship Biden: we're ready to help and we will send a team to assess the situation. Egyptians: We built 3 pyramids. this is nothing.
Nobody's talking about how it appears to be listing now?
How something that weighs almost 500 million pounds in the first place blows my mind
Can't help but wonder what's in those containers

I guarantee u there is a lot of fake goods. With lead paint, and other illegal chemicals. 20/20 the news show. Showed the world. How much of the crap shipped in from overseas. Is counterfeit. Over 6 years ago.container after container of knock offs. Even counterfeit stuff we ingest. Or put on our skins. People are buying make up of famous name brands. Like Jenner or Kardashian. But it is counterfeit. And the ingredients can harm people. I’d bet a weeks wage over half those containers have counterfeit cargo

In Panama many countries are supplying pieces to the new bigger canal. That new canal will be wider and deeper so that ships like the one in this article would not get stuck.
I wonder if they are gonna have a different Captain take charge or are they gonna let the same guy who got it stuck keep working.
