See This Space-Based View of Global Sea Levels From SWOT Data
Ғылым және технология
Data collected by the U.S.-European Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite shows global sea levels from July 26 to Aug. 16, 2023. Red and orange indicate ocean heights higher than the global mean sea surface height, while blue represents heights lower than the mean.
Sea level differences can highlight ocean currents, like the Gulf Stream coming off the U.S. East Coast. The data can also indicate regions of relatively warmer water - like the eastern part of the equatorial Pacific Ocean during an El Niño - because water expands as it warms.
The SWOT mission is a collaboration between NASA and CNES, with contributions from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and the UK Space Agency.

Brazil? Onde fica?! - Qdo irao aprender que o estadunidense, europeu qdo fala da America do Sul eh para trocar as capitais. Buenos Aires, Brasil ou Sao Pablo, Chile.

Atlantico só banha Brasil e África, eles não se importam com esses lugares.

@@i_am_nazif1:27 on which video? Surely not this one. It poorly shows a little part of the northmost part of south America. I bet you have already visited the incredible Brazilian capital city of Buenos Aires multiple times, haven't You?
Curious how they ignore South America
Brazil shouldn't have any anomalies, as it didn't even appear in the video

only the people is anomalies here, true
Outro ponto a ser destacado eh porque não mostra a América do Sul? Brasil… Argentina…

Some conclusions that I extracted from the video. - the Satellite did not render lakes on the map, but I believe it must have captured that information. - As the focus of the Mission is sea level, I found it surprising that any scanning technology is capable of working with an accuracy of half a meter of variation, considering all types of interference from densities in the atmosphere and temperatures. - the points on the planet with the highest level coincide with places of earthquakes (Japanese coast), hurricanes (Caribbean) and strong currents (meeting of the oceans in Southern Africa)

All of this changes the height of the ocean surface, I believe that a lake is too small to present such anomalies
@erickcontier

@@diegoabreu665 I think some lakes would be outliers to the intended study. For instance, the Dead Sea can be seen from space but it is below 400m sea level. In US the Great Lakes are so huge that has some characteristics of a sea, like tides and waves.

The 🌎 dont show South América.😡😤
good work jpl
So exciting! Can't wait for the freshwater views!
Agora… porque o polo norte está preto???????
So some parts of the ocean in the Atlantic and south of Africa have a difference of 50 cm from each other? How is that?
Kaspian sea🕵️
Wat is deze zwarte cirkel???
Why aren't the anomalies more evenly widespread on the water's surface worldwide? In other words, why are the anomalies seen as "spots" or "strings" surrounded by cooler water?
@bill0405

My guess is it's a combination of water currents, weather, and topography.

Where is South America?

Каспий где???
*I did an experiment, I place a container full of ice, actually overflowing, in a hot room. Once it melted nothing had over overflowed.* *Conclusion is sea levels wont rise when the world's ice melts...So there ya go!*
These are not big waves???
Did you notice that the Bermuda Triangle region is very anomalous?
Tudo errado!
Nice of you to Zoom down for Australia, NZ and South Africa... where is the love for South America?! For Shame!
