See the complete run of Topps All-Star rookie cards from 1960-today

See all the Topps All-Star Rookie team cards (“cup cards”) from the beginning (1960 Topps) through today. Learn a little bit about the set, see who was in it, see who wasn’t in it, learn some facts about it, and see a pair of cards “that never were”. Plus, some extra pickups. #baseballcards #collect #thehobby

I’ve actually thought about writing a (short) book about the Topps All-Star Rookie team history. Sounds like a good project for when I’m in retired.

While I was happy to show them off so people could see them, I legit wanted at least 2 hours to talk about all the players/teams. While I did get to mention things like the only two players to make the team twice (ironically, both Orioles players) and the fact that some Rookie of the Year winners didn't make the team, there is SO much more that I wanted to get into. I could do a mini-series on the Topps All-Star Rookie teams. haha. As always, thanks for watching!

I think for me since I started collecting in 1987 those "cups" signified something. And I guess I never lost that. Plus, it's interesting to see how all the careers played out.

Great deal on the Bo traded and awesome Pillman cards! Always wondered if he had any cards. The only slab that you ever paid for happens to be my all time favorite card! I hope there’s more PC trophy card vids coming.

@@PennySleeveSteve That can be arranged. Haha. A friend sent me a pic of Pullman’s CFL rookie card. Since he’s a local from Cincinnati AND a Miami grad I figured I needed to look up his cards. The only two football cards I could find are his CFL rookie card (which goes for $40 and up) and this one where he is in the foreground without being named. He might be in others that he is unnamed on, but I haven’t found them yet. And that Ripken is just such a clean looking rookie card. I could have used his tri-player RC, but it just didn’t feel right. So traded it is!

@@markcornish2519 There are quite a few players over the years that made the Topps All-Star Rookie team that Topps didn’t put a trophy on their card. I can’t find a good reason why. I need to research it more. But here is the CRAZY thing… there are two guys who have trophies on their cards that are not officially listed on the Topps All-Star Rookie teams. Boring... reprint cards are boring, boring, boring. That you won't put your cards in the 9-pocket is telling. But you present it in your Title as "See the complete run..." as if you've completed it. If you won't handle the obviously not good Seaver rookie card, which is made for handling and having fun with, trading etc. Then you will never experience the unbridled joy of collecting + trading baseball cards. A messed up card like the Seaver rookie is perfect for handling.

Well, we all have our own way of collecting. Whether that's who we collect, what we collect, how we collect, and in many cases, how we display it, everyone puts their own touch on things. I always stress in my videos to collect how each individual wants, and to display how they want. Make the hobby the most enjoyable to your own personal experience. After all, it really is just a hobby. Thanks for watching.
