Acrylic pouring Medium:
My home made pouring medium used for my usual work is a pre mix of 70% keep it simple pouring medium and 30% warm water.
I add my pouring medium to my paint slowly until I achieve the consistency of pouring cream, approximately 50/50 more pm if needed, not all paint brands may go well with this pouring medium, so just test out.
paint brands mostly used are the Global impasto paints, Amsterdam paints, pebeo paints, also Mont marte studio acrylics.
I Certainly explore different brands and mediums, it’s all part of the learning process.
You can add a tablespoon of floetrol to each paint cup and stir instead of silicone for more cells.
Extra special cell and lace and bloom like creation is found with Amsterdam paints add Aussie floetrol until correct consistency required, then used in pour or used to swipe details, “Aussie slides” are easily created this method.
I’m not using silicone very often at all (2023)
If I add silicone this is what I do.
When iv mixed my paints I add 2 drops maximum of Helmar silicone, also Australian made, I stir in well.
I always like to mix up my paints and add silicone the day before I’m going to paint, and cover with a damp cloth, as I have found I have much better results.

Gilly, as long as I am here, you are never really "chatting" to yourself 😉 I love listening to you "chat" while you are working, it lets me know what you are thinking, and sends me in the right direction, to know how to try what you are experimenting with! I really love the "flower" painting, and the way it all came out so soft and flowing 😚 Thanks so much for sharing your "new challenges" with us, and help us know what we may, or may not expect. These are still beautiful and I appreciate you and your artwork! Take care, God Bless 🙏❣

Gilly, I have had the same problem with Pearl paints! Molly and Mark J Ratcliffe do beautiful work with them.

I have tried several times. All on Amsterdam black base. I happened to have a bottle of owatrol. Worked really well because it was thicker than floetrol. I found it's a little more vibrant if you don't do it quite 50/50. I did add a tiny bit of water. I've done the marble with the tilt, a swipe with a tilt. My favorite one with brilliant colors is the blowout. I used the world's smallest blow dryer, started with a puddle not quite halfway up the canvas, and used a bit of cell activator at the bottom of the puddle. It gave me beautiful lacing(I had used a dot of silver underneath the CA). I ended up with lacey silver leaves. Don't be discouraged.. There is a knack to it!. Happy Belate Bday🥳. Thanks, Gilly, for the experiment 😁😘

Hi Gilly! I'm so happy you're back in your art studio. You're very welcome for the paints but I feel terrible that I didn't leave you with any info on how to use them, not even the basic thing like they should be used on black or other very dark colours! 😮 I mix mine with just Floetrol, the same as the base. I'm sure you'll have fun experimenting anyway. I love how yours turned out and I have no idea why the one didn't work. 🤷‍♀️ I've never seen ballooning done with them before, that was brilliant, Gilly! Oh, and happy belated birthday, my friend, sorry I missed it. I hope you had a great day! Big hugs! ❤🙋‍♀️🥰🤗🎉

Mark J Ratcliffe Art would be a great source to watch. He has done some absolutely gorgeous creations. All of his are amazing and he really explains everything he does in wonderful detail and then leaves all his mixture information in the detail section. I loved one of his so much, I just had to buy it and have it shipped to the USA. I think you would get a lot of info from his videos. Denise ❤

I have done pearl pours with the Amsterdam paints. I found that I had to mix them a little thicker and my colors were very vibrant! Mack J Radcliffe does beautiful things with pearl paints I learned a lot from his Chanel! Keep up the wonderful videos! Love from NB Canada!

Hello Gilly! I think your paintings came out beautiful even if they weren't what you were expecting. ❤ In my first video using these paints, my color didnt show up but then i mixed them with only a dab of Saxx Gel Medium and Floetrol and a black base & now the colors show up! Thank you for sharing

Molly has been experimenting with the pearlscent color. She used a white base then black puddles then she put the pearl scent colors on the black puddles it came out really cool.

I use these paints a lot, I just love them. I have done marble pours with them. I have used a stick to move the paint around like what your are showing. I even did an open cup with them, but the open cup makes the paints pastel. They are wonderful and so bright and fun to pour. You never know what you are going to get but they are amazing. My paints are a little bit thicker than yours Gilly. I quit using any floetrol because it dulls the paint. I use GAC 800 and Liquitex but I'm sure you could use any pouring medium.
