Dear Rick Renner, I simply love your "dinosaur teaching style". Thank you so much. Through your teachings I do understand the Bible better and so I can speed up the race for the Lord, because I see the way ahead more clearly. I agree and have been saying that believers must not only read their Bible, they must study the Bible, the entire Bible. One teacher said that "the best commentary on the Bible is the Bible." We shouldn't be going to external commentaries on what the Bible says about a passage before we find out what the Bible says about it. The Holy Spirit is very good about leading us to the truth. I believe that when we don't know the nature of God taught in Scripture we actually twist Him into something He is not. What we believe says a lot about who we think He is. For instance, if someone doesn't think that healing is in the atonement and God wants them sick to teach them something, they need to ask, "How does that belief portray God?" It says, 1. God changed. Jesus went about healing all who were sick and oppressed of the devil, and Jesus was the exact representation of God. If He does not want to do the same as He did when He was walking the earth, then He has changed. God never changes. 2. God doesn't care about hurting people. If He doesn't want to heal everyone then He plays games and doesn't really care about some people. That is a lie and is not correct. We need to have correct, Biblical beliefs. If we don't see something like healing in our lives, it isn't God who has failed, we have failed to get understanding and truth on the matter which adversely affects what we believe. Having wrong beliefs about God is a very serious matter because we malign Him, what Jesus did, and what He accomplished. Unbelievers watch us and whether we realize it or not, our lives are a witness to them.
